I'm sorry if you're thing: OMG LOOK HOW SHORT THIS STORY IS! It's because it's a short story. I wrote it for a Mysteries of Harris Burdick contest at my school. It's where you get a most random picture, a title to your picture, and a quote you have to include in your story. I wrote this back when my writing skills weren't as good (honestly there hasn't been much improvement) so don't hate me to pieces lol. This story is depressing in a way. If you wanna look up the picture I wrote the story to, it's called Oscar and Alphonse. Anyshoe, enjoy the story! I love you for reading!

She always knew this day would come. Katie knew it would come ever since Alphonse told her she was getting better. She had 6 months with Oscar and Alphonse, and from the beginning they told her that they could only stay until she was better. At first, when they told her that, she couldn't care less. She felt resentful to the world. She didn't think two things so insignificantly small could make a difference in her life after her best female friend for life, Sadie, died she felt like no one and nothing could ever make a difference in her life, that no one could ever save her. She became depressed and started to push everyone away to the point where everyone, even her family, gave up on her. Even a year after her friend's death Katie still felt all hope was lost, but that changed for the better when she met her caterpillar friends. They gave her hope that life could get better, she just had to believe it would. It was as if they were sent to teach her how to be happy again. And on that day, she truly was the happiest she had ever been since Sadie passed. Oscar and Alphonse knew this too, and as much as they didn't want to, it was time for them to leave. Katie understood that there were other children in the world they needed to heal, but those were her angels and she didn't want them taken away. "It's not fair!" Katie exclaimed, "Everybody ends up leaving me no matter what!" Katie gave Oscar and Alphonse a remorseful look because she knew she saying was selfish of her. "It's not like they're leaving randomly without warning," she thought. Katie sighed because she knew that it was time to send them back. She picked them up and brought them close to her face and whispered, "Thank you and I'm sorry." Oscar and Alphonse gave her a butterfly kisses on her cheek, and then she lowered them down to the point where she could look at them. The caterpillars softly wiggled in her hand, spelling out "goodbye." She set Oscar and Alphonse on the ground and watched them crawl away at caterpillar speed. Katie could feel the tears start in her eyes as she waved goodbye to her angels. Waving to them non-stop until they became less visible with every inch until they disappeared into the spring grass. Katie knew that life was going to be okay, and that she would enjoy life even if she wouldn't see her angels again for a long time.

And that was the end! I'm sorry if it blinded you! Or fried your brain or something! Please don't sue me! Again I'm sorry if it was too short for you, but it had to be under 500 words. If you did happen to enjoy it for some wierd reason...YAY! Thank you! I hope you enjoyed. Until Next time!
