lostmoonchlid: I decided that Kurama wasn't really getting all that much attention with the stuff that's I'm writing so this story was the product. Funny thing is, this was written before a friend of mine died in May by about three months or so. Was it foretelling what would happen or was it just a product of studyhall boredom? I don't know but there's one thing I do know: YYH isn't mine so don't sue me.
Study Hall Memories
Kurama sighed as he set his book down. He had no homework and he wasn't interested in reading at the moment. Quietly, he looked at the cover of his book before closing his eyes.
Today was the day Kuronue died. His death day and Kurama was trapped in school. Later he'd have to go to the Makai to pay his respects for the bat demon.
Eighteen years later and the King of Bandits was still mourning for his partner in crime. Didn't surprise him, Kuronue was the best. Well, next to him of course.
"Tired, Youko?" Kuronue shouted laughing.
"NO! Why, you want to stop?" Youko shouted back.
"I should ask you the same."
Both demons ran around, training mostly for their latest challenge. Hair blacker than night following one while hair as silver as the stars above trailed behind the other. Kuronue, the bat demon and close friend to Youko Kurama, the King of Bandits ran wit his friend before narrowly avoiding the rosewhip, Youko Kurama's deadliest attack.
Youko laughed when he dodges the sythe, knowing he would have been in trouble if any vital organs had been hit but Kuronue wouldn't let him get hurt. At least, not now anyway. They were having fun at theives.
Kurama looked at the clock and saw he had twenty minutes left. Then the bell would ring and he would go to his last two classes. Then he could go home and tell his human mother that he was going to a friend's house. It was amazing how easily lies came. Was it because he was a demon, using a human's body to survive? Or was it because he didn't want to endanger his human family. Maybe it was both but he didn't know.
They had been running for some time now. Kuronue dropped the pendant and had gone back to get it. "Leave it!" Youko shouted stopping.
"No!" Kuronue shouted back.
No sooner had Kuronue grabbed the pendant did a bunch of bamboo shot up suddenly. Youko started running towards his friend but turned around and ran away when Kuronue shouted at him to run.
That night Youko had locked himself in his room and let himself grieve. He swore to remember Kuronue for as long as he lived and wouldn't rest until Kuronue's murderes were dead. That might he promised.
Then he was being chased some time later and badly injured. Not ready to die, he tore his soul from his body and fled into an unborn child. He had planned to leave by the time his human body was ten but he learned to love his human mother so he stayed.
The bell rang signaling study hall was over. Gathering his things, Kurama got up and walked quietly to his next class. Farewell, my friend, farewell. Kurama thought blending in with the rest of the student population.
lostmoonchild: Again, product of studyhall boredom so read and review, flames are accepted.
