"I'm Tally Youngblood. Make me pretty."

Those are the only words she had to speak. Before she could say anything else,

Special Circumstances whisked her away to their headquarters, where

she was questioned and taken care of.

A few moments later she was on her way to the hospital, where, within hours she was under

anesthesia and ready to be prettied.

Now, it is a widely know fact that humans don't dream while under. But Tally was different.

She saw things. Strange things.

There was this beautiful princess.

She lived in a tall tower with smart walls, a closet that would give her anything she

wanted, from friends to knives. But she didn't want any of that stuff. She wanted

to be outside. Outside with the other pretty people. The people that knew her best.

But there was a giant silver dragon guarding the tower. Any means of escape were lost

with this monster in the way. Then one day, a handsome prince came. He slayed the

dragon and saved Tally. Yet, when she saw his face, he wasn't handsome.

Actually, he was from from it. He had a too large nose, a scar through one of his eyebrows,

and was ugly.

She ran from the prince, into the arms of a fellow pretty. This pretty

had black hair and golden eyes. They were so warm and inviting, unlike the

ugly that tried to fool her into believing he was her prince.

The ugly prince stood back and watched as she left him behind. Could he ever forgive her for such betrayal?

Tally walked along side this Pretty Prince for what seemed like forever. Then, as if it had never happened, she took one step and ended up back in the tower. Tally screamed in protestant rage. This wasn't where she was supposed to be! She was meant to be with her prince! Her beautiful prince.

The dragon just laughed and told her to look in the mirror. She didn't need that prince. She was much too perfect for him. In fact, she was much too perfect for either of them.

Tally turned and gasped at what she saw. She was frighteningly beautiful. Her teeth razor sharp, and her eyes as black as night. Was this was she had become?

Out of curiosity, Tally flexed her new muscles. They were amazing. But were they enough to slay the dragon on her own? She didn't see why not.

So with the strength and agility of a thousand men, Tally took a running start and leaped clear over the window pane and over the dragons head. She landed fell into a roll and began running.

She ran as far as she thought possible, and when she stopped, she found she had run through to a city. A city filled with people as freakish and extreme as her. Tally felt she finally fit, so she stayed for a night.

The next morning however, she saw a familiar face. Thinking it was the beautiful prince, she went to them. It wasn't the prince. It was the other prince. The ugly one. Tally lashed out in anger. Where was her beautiful prince? The one she loved? The ugly prince looked down sadly and told her. The Pretty Prince had died trying to save her from the great silver dragon.

Tally fell to her knees in anguish. He was dead. Her prince was dead. And it was all her fault.

The Ugly Prince knelt. It wasn't her fault. It was no ones fault. No one knew that the Pretty Prince went to slay the dragon, and when word got out it was already too late. He was gone. Tally looked up at the Ugly Prince. He smiled sweetly at her and helped her to her feet.

Tally didn't know why, or how. But the Ugly Prince suddenly lost his crooked nose, and the scar through his eyebrow disappeared right before her eyes. He lost the unnatural darkness of his skin and everything suddenly became all about him. Tally smiled happily. He was her real prince all along. Her true prince had known she was meant to save herself.
