Prologue
No one should know my secret. Not even my family. Not my friends. I repeat no one. I was hunting and it was about nine o'clock. Close by…no I'm telling this story to you, humans. I see it, in the distance, theirs a deer eating. Within seconds, I was close by. I was so silent, that it didn't even have the time to lift its head. I was drinking, I felt revived. I don't know if you know who I'm … I'm Bella Swan, a dark creature or mostly what you HUMANS call…vampires. You all heard the legends were they say that vampires drink human blood…well, not all of us because I drink the blood of the animal. A sort of "vegetarian." One thing is sure, I'm not the only one of my kind, I never met anyone other vampire except the one that bit me… his name was… no, he never told me what his name was. All I remember pain, not pain that's from falling or scraping your knee, it was more of a burning, violent sensation inside of me. No one was around to help me; no one could hear my agonizing screams. Then, when it was finished, I discovered a stronger, faster Bella; everything about me was one thousand times better. What do you think was my first reaction, well of course I was very surprise, but other than that, I was very scared, me who used to be a human was now a vampire, how would people react when they see that even if the years pass, I don't show any signs of aging. But now, I'm okay, I know that for the moment Charlie and I are happy to be living together, plus I'm still in high school which by the way starts tomorrow. It's fun, though. Even if I'm new, I'm sure I'll have fun.
