Renesme's Lullaby
"No, Jakey, I don't want you to go!" whailed Renesme. She had insisted I tuck her into bed, and how could I refuse my soul mate.
"But your mom said that you have to go to bed, Nessie. What if I, um." A thought struck me, "What if I sing you a lullaby?" I asked.
She looked interested, "Okay, Jake. Sing me a lullaby." Now I was stuck. A lullaby, I had to figure out a lullaby. "All right, just give me a minute," I said, and she nodded obligingly.
"Okay, I have it, now lie down." I watched as my little angel crawled under her covers and pressed her head back against her pillow. Taking a breath, I started to sing. Painfully aware that both Bella and Edward could here me just downstairs.
"Hush, my darling
You need your rest and
Please don't fight it as you
Fall into dreamland
"I will be here
When you wake
And I promise
You'll be safe
"So close your eyes now
I'll see you soon
Let your dreams fly you
To the moon
"Hush my darling
You're asleep at last
And when your eyes open
Night will have passed."
I slowly rose from my seat on the edge of her bed, Renesme's eyes were shut tight.
"Good night, Nessie," I whispered, leaning down and kissing her forehead. I turned and exited the room and as I closed the door, I could've sworn I heard Nessie's little voice say, "Good night, Jakey."
And I couldn't help but smile.
A/N: Okay so what did you think? I had this idea a while ago cuz I figured Jacob would do something like this for Nessie. It's my first Jake/Nessie story and my first real story for twilight. Hope you enjoy. I need reviews so I can write another story I have an idea for. :D
