Dear Ladybug,

You've helped a lot of my friends and even my father break free of Hawkmoth's control along with Chat Noir. Soaring across the rooftops, fighting akumas, saving people , hunting things, the family business. I just wanted to say "thank you".

Sincerely,

Adrien Agreste

Adrien sets his pen down on his desk and puts his head in his hands. He lets out a short sigh and stares ahead at the clock above the board.

"What's wrong, dude?" Nino asks, noticing the shift in his buddy's mood.

"I can't think of what to write to Ladybug!" the model exclaims, turning to face his best friend.

"You're writing to Ladybug?"

Adrien turns even more in his seat to look at the girl who sits behind him. Marinette is leaning forward on her forearms and has a small, pink tint to her cheeks that seems to appear whenever she's aware of his presence. She's trying to peer past his shoulder at the letter that he should probably crumble up.

"Yeah. Hey, I see you're writing to Chat Noir!" he says, looking down and seeing his alter persona's name on the top of her page.

"What? Oh, uh, yeah!" she says, scratching the back of her head as if she was just asked a really personal question.

'It's not like I can write to myself!' she thinks and smiles slightly.

"What about you, Alya?" Adrien asks, turning his attention to the blogger.

"Duh, I'm writing to Ladybug! I'm going to ask her for an exclusive interview!" she says excitedly, turning to face her three friends.

"Y'know, Alya, these letters are supposed to be thanking Ladybug and Chat Noir!" Nino teases.

Alya sticks her tongue out at her boyfriend before they both laugh.

"Nino's writing to Chat Noir too," Adrien says, redirecting his attention solely to Marinette.

"O-oh?"

"Yeah, he thinks that he's really cool," he explains, smiling at his little inside joke.

The two stare at each other with goofy smiles before the mood shifts to pure awkwardness and Adrien turns back around in the bench without saying another word.

"I think that Chat's pretty cool, too," Marinette mumbles.

"Do you like him?" Adrien asks teasingly, making her blush more.

"W-what? Chat Noir? Phff, no! Beyond the fact that he's a superhero, I don't know anything about him! No one does!"

Adrien turns back around, consumed in thought over her words.

"What'd I say?" Marinette asks Alya.

"I don't know, girl. Maybe he's a big Chat Noir fan!"

"Then why doesn't he write to him instead?"

Alya offers an unhelpful shrug and Marinette sighs in worry.

Later that day, Adrien was in his room playing video games. He finishes yet another round of Ultimate Mecha Strike III before putting down his controller with a sigh.

"Why are you frowning, kid? There's Camembert in the room!" Plagg exclaims.

The model turns to look at the tiny, black cat that is stuffing yet another slice of smelly cheese into his mouth.

"Marinette-"

"Pigtail Girl?"

"Heh, yeah, Pigtail Girl. She said something today that got me thinking," Adrien explains.

"Doing something for the first time can be hard!" Plagg teases.

Adrien shoots a glare at the bad-luck kwami.

"She said that no one really knows Chat Noir."

"Well," Plagg says as he downs more cheese, "she's right. Except for Lovebug and akumas, you don't really talk to anyone as Chat."

Adrien strides over to the window and strikes a Model Pose while thinking.

"Plagg!" Adrien exclaims as he turns back around, "Claws Out!"

Adrien is engulfed in a green light that fades to show Chat Noir standing in the teen's place. The superhero opens the bedroom window and jumps out into the streets of Paris.

Just a few streets over, Marinette is leaning against the metal railing of her balcony, staring at some passing clouds as the wind blows lightly through her hair, unaware of the guest that would soon be arriving. A certain red kwami hovers next to her.

"Tikki, what did I say to make Adrien upset? He seemed bothered the rest of the day...Nino was as much help as Alya!"

Tikki darts away to inside of Marinette's purse before she could answer as a thud sounds out behind her, signaling that something just landed on the roof. The young fashion designer whips around, ready to either scream or throw some punches.

"Bonjour!" Chat says with a smirk as he stands up.

"Chat Noir! What are you doing here?" Marinette asks, trying to hide that he startled her.

"Is that how you greet all superheroes? Because that wasn't very welcoming, Marinette!" Chat teases.

"You know my name?" the teen asks, genuinely surprised.

"Of course! How could I forget my biggest fan?"

Marinette rolls her eyes and crosses her arms over her chest.

"And who says that I'm your biggest fan?"

Chat's head and ears droop and he puckers his lower lip, fake pouting.

"So whatever reason would my favorite superhero be visiting me out of all the citizens of Paris?" Marinette asks, faking awe like she had done when Chat asked for her help with defeating the Evillustrator.

"Well, a little birdie told me that your class is writing letters to your favorite superheroes! So I thought I'd stop by and see how your letter to me is coming along!" Chat says excitedly, perking up immediately.

Marinette sighs at Chat's fake narcissism and crosses her arms.

"And how would you know that I'm writing to you?"

Chat Noir catches on his words for a second, being careful to not reveal that she told "him" earlier in the day.

"Well, I, uh, am pretty awesome," Chat Noir shows off his flexed muscles, "aren't I?"

Marinette moves her hand in front of her mouth to try and stifle her laugh to no avail. Chat's ears perk up and he smiles at her.

"Clearly, humble as well!" she jokes.

"Aw, purrincess, you know I was kidding!" Chat says, puckering his lower lip and tilting his head down slightly.

They smile at each other for a second before the wind starts blowing even harder, a storm surely approaching. Chat grabs his arms and shivers as Marinette shields her eyes away from a stray pigtail.

"It's a bit chilly!" Chat jokes as he lets out a little sniffle.

"Ah, well, come inside. The wind is picking up and I wouldn't want my hero to freeze!" Marinette says sarcastically, clasping her hands together at her cheek.

Chat snickers as she opens the hatch into her room and they both drop down onto her bed and climb down the steps.

"Take a seat anywhere," Marinette gestures around the room as she walks over to her desk. Chat plops down on the daybed and crosses his legs, eager to hear her letter.

"Dear Chat Noir...while you're an amazing superhero, you really need to get ahold of your narcissism! Marinette Dupain-Cheng."

Marinette turns in her chair and looks at Chat Noir, who is fake pouting.

"Why so mean, Pigtails?

"That's what happens when you improvise, kitty."

Chat Noir stands up and walks over to Marinette, "Why not read what you actually-?"

He pauses, seeing Marinette's blank paper except for his name and a few paw-prints doodled at the top. He looks over to Marinette, who is looking at a wall full of pictures of...

Marinette snaps up in her chair, startling Chat. She doesn't meet his bewildered gaze.

"Where are my manners? Do you want something to eat or drink?" she asks.

Chat doesn't say anything, still trying to understand why Marinette has a lot of pictures of him, well, Adrien on her wall. Marinette walks over and unlatches the door of her room. She starts climbing down before stopping.

"Be quiet, okay? Come on."

Chat walks over to the trapdoor, his eyes only leaving the pictures when he has to climb down the ladder. Marinette walks over to the fridge, opening it and listing out what's inside. Chat Noir wanders over to the bookshelf by the couch. He picks up the picture of Marinette and her parents and smiles softly at it.

'They're all so happy and close to each other.'

His gaze moves to focus on Marinette; specifically, her smile.

'She's so happy…'

"Chaton?" Marinette calls quietly.

The superhero puts the frame back and walks over to her, bending down slightly to look inside the fridge.

"Can I have some milk?"

"Would you like it in a cup or a sauser?" Marinette teases.

"Hilarious."

Marinette gets two cups out and pours him and herself some milk. She also gets a small plate and gets some cookies from a glass jar. She hands the plate to Chat and she holds the two cups of milk as they return to her room. She kicks the door behind her and places the cups on the desk. She then notices that Chat is staring at the pictures of Adrien that she hadn't had the chance to take down before he entered the room. Her eyes grow wide and she inhales sharply.

"Ch-chaton?"

Chat clasps his fist onto his open palm, "Ah! You're a fan of Gabriel Agreste's work, aren't you?"

Marinette looks at Chat, trying to tell whether he's being serious.

"Yeah, I'm a huge fan of his work," she responds, letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding.

"Anyway," the oblivious cat says as he picks up a cookie, "let's get to work on this letter without any letters!"

Marinette sits back down at her desk, also taking a cookie and dunking it in her milk before biting into it. Chat leans on the desk, almost hovering over Marinette.

"Wait, what's the point of writing you a letter if you are helping to write it?" Marinette asks, looking up at him.

Chat scratches behind his ear, pondering for a second.

"You have a point there. How about we write to Ladybug instead?" the cat replies, a smile spreading to his face over thinking of the love of his life.

Marinette smiles to herself, thinking 'Guess I am writing to myself after all!'

She reaches for her backpack and pulls another piece of paper out of her binder. She picks up her pen and begins saying what she's writing down.

"Dear Ladybug, we've never met personally, but you have saved a lot of my friends with Chat Noir."

Marinette looks up at Chat, who is staring down at the letter and nodding slightly.

"Keep going. Maybe throw a pun in there. M'lady loves it when I joke with her."

Marinette rolls her eyes and turns her attention back to her letter.

"I don't know much about you, but I feel like I know you. I know you're brave, caring, selfless, a leader..."

Marinette pauses again and looks at Chat, who has closed his eyes now, his face completely relaxed.

"And you clearly have a lot of self-control considering how long you've been able to put up with Chat Noir!"

The cat in question straightens up and opens his eyes.

"Hey! Erase that!"

Marinette laughs and puts her pen down on the letter, "I can't erase what I wrote in ink."

Chat Noir crosses his arm over his chest, "Maybe we should take a break. You need inspiration."

"Whatever you say, Chat," Marinette replies, taking another bite of her cookie.

Chat looks around her room.

"This room isn't very inspiring..."

"Well then," Marinette retorts with a huff as she walks up next to him.

"I know a place we could go!" Chat says, excitedly.

He scoops Marinette, who is stunned into silence, in his arms and jumps up onto her bed. He pushes on the skylight window and jumps onto the balcony.

"Close your eyes and hang on tight, okay?"

At Marinette's tighter squeeze, he leaps off of her balcony and starts sprinting across the rooftops toward the Eiffel Tower.
