It was Friday and the students at Seishun academy were restless and distracted. It was sixth period, the last of the day, and Kikumaru Eiji was staring out of the window. He hated math class. It made no sense to him. He sighed and his sheet of paper toward him. (He was supposed to be doing book work on it) Taking his pink pen, he scribbled a note.

I'm bored.

Then he slipped it to Oishi who sat across the table. At first Oishi didn't see it so Eiji tried to get his attention. "Nya!" Oishi looked up from his book work and mouthed "What?" Eiji pointed to the paper. As Oishi read it, he smiled understandingly and scribbled a response in blue.

-I can't help you with that right now. I have to do my work.

Eiji made a pouting puppy face at him.

There's no tennis practice today. I have absolutely nothing to do ALL WEEKEND!

He doodled a small sad face at the end of his sentence. As he read it, Oishi chuckled and shook his head.

-You can spend some time with your family. Their lively bunch you should be fine.

Eiji made another pouty face and responded in pink.

… What are you doing after school?

As Oishi read this his face took on a puzzled expression.

-Why?

There's this new horror movie I've been wanting to see. I can't take my sisters because they both hate horror. If I bring either of my brothers, they'll talk through the whole movie.

Eiji wrote all of this very quikly. Oishi paused before responding this time.

-Are you asking me out Eiji?

Eiji's face turned the same color as his pen.

So what if I am?

-What time is the movie?

Well, there's one at 5:00 and one right after school.

As Eiji passed the paper to Oishi, he rubbed his forfinger along his nose. Oishi recognized this as one of Eiji's nervous habits.

-We can make it to the theater in time if we run.

Was that a yes?

-Yes.

Eiji threw his fists into the air and Oishi nearly fell out of his chair. "Yes, I did it! Nya!" The teacher turned around from where he had been writing on the board. "Kikumaru, disrupting the class," His eyes fell on the pink and blue sheet of paper, "and passing notes. You do know what that means." He strolled over to their table, snatched up the paper, and walked back to the front of the class. Eiji stood up. "No Sempai! Don't read-" The teacher cleared his throat and began to read the paper to the entire class.

"I'm bored."

The teacher used two different voices, one for pink and one for blue.

"I can't help you with that right now. I have to do my work.

There's no tennis practice today. I have absolutely nothing to do ALL WEEKEND!

You can spend some time with your family. Their lively bunch you should be fine." As he read Eiji hid his face in his arms on the desk. Te teacher paused for a second to exhamine the words.

"Are you asking me out Eiji?"

It was clear that the whole class was now listening. Eiji's whole body began to tremble. Oishi reached acrossed the table and places a comporting hand on Eiji's arm.

"We can make it to the theater in time if we run. Was that a yes? Yes."

All of the girls looked around at Eiji. Most of them burst in to fits of giggles. The teacher looked almost sorry he had read the note at all. Eiji looked up. His face was streaked with tears, but he was laughing. Oishi was genuinely concerned. "Eiji, are you alright?" Eiji ran his finger over his nose in an emberassed manner. "Yeah, I'm okay. Ha-ha." Oishi cocked his head to one side. "What's so funny?" "Ha-ha! Oh nothing. It's just that Sempai souns just like you." There was an embarrassed silence between them. Eiji smiled at Oishi. "We're still going to the movies, right?" Oishi grinned exasperatedly. "Yeah sure we are." The bell rang which symbolized the end of another long week and a really long run to the cinema. "Hey Oishi…" "Yeah?" "I need a hug…"
