This is a short drabble.
Azula layed on the ground in the cold rain, staring at the lifeless bodies of her friends. The rain made it impossible to see the tears coming down her face. She never knew she cared so deeply for them.
She thought about what happened earlier that day. She thought about the fight that they got into with the earth benders. She thought about how the leader offered Ty Lee and Mai a better deal, that they should join them. Even if they were from the Fire Nation, the earth benders agreed the they wouldn't mistreat Ty Lee and Mai the way Azula did.
She thought of how they had the chance to take up the offer and leave her. She thought about how that did take up the deal. They walked over to the earth benders leaving Azula all alone. The earth benders told them to kill Azula. She thought about how they could have done, yet they choose to save her, but at the cost of there own lives.
Azula thought about how she was always so cruel to them and yet, they steal stuck with her to the end. Which was now.
She wept over losing them. She was never once nice to them. She couldn't believe that they declined their chance to leave her.
"I never treated you two the way you deserved. You always stayed by me no matter how cruel I was. I'm sorry. Please forgive me." Azula whispered.
I just wanted to write a quick drabble showing that Azula does care for Mai and Ty Lee. I wonder if they do that sometime during season 3.
