I turned my head to the driver's side, where Vic was unconscious, his head resting on the steering wheel. I tried not to panic as I lifted up his head. His forehead where the impact happened was bleeding, streaks of blood ran down his perfect face. His lids were closed, so you couldn't see his big brown eyes. A sudden thought ran into my thoughts like this car ran into the big maple tree in front of us. What if he's dead?
That thought took my breath away. I put my finger against the bottom of his nose, small streams of air blew against it and i let out a sigh of relief. Okay, he's breathing. That's good. I don't know what I'd do if he didn't make it. I'd probably live like a zombie, without porpose, or maybe go to extremes...
You see, Vics been my best friend for a year. It may not seem long, but every moment with him, I enjoyed. I realized I fell in love with him a few days after we met. Since then, I tried to be his best friend without revealing my true feelings for him. He's an affectionate person, so it was extremely hard. Every time he had to go home, he kissed my cheek, and when I'd get depressed, he'd hug me and kiss my forehead and not let go.
I snapped out of my thoughts and went back to Vic, whose head was resting on my shoulder, still alive, but looking lifeless. I looked for my phone to call for help, with no luck. I then went into Vic's hoodie's pocket, where I pulled out his black flip phone, unharmed. I called the police and told them where we are, then waited. I waited for about a minute, then a miracle happened. Vic stirred in my arms, then his eyes fluttered open, he looked up at me.
"Hiya, cupcake," he said in a weak voice.
I smiled at my nickname and replied, "Hi, Victor. How ya feeling?"
He sat up and checked himself; first his chest, then legs, and then his face. He drew in a sharp breath when he touched the cut on his forehead.
"I can't feel my legs, but other than that, I'm fine."
I brushed the hair out of his face and said, "That's good. you scared me, you were out for a while. I thought," I teared up, "you were a goner. I was so scared, I didn't want to live anymore if you didn't make it."
His face got serious and he replied, "Woah, cupcake. Are you saying you can't live without me?" he paused, then said, "Because if that's the case, then it's the same for me."
I looked at him, which made him continue.
"_, I honestly can't live without you. I fell in love with you the second I met you. If you die, I die too," he grabbed my hands and I saw him tear up, "_, I love you."
I was fully crying at that point, and he came close to it. His face came closer to mine, our noses touched, and we kissed. I felt the fireworks, and I can tell he did too, because he was smiling against my lips. He pulled away and both of us were smiling.
Suddenly, sirens filled the air and we breathed a sigh of relief. EMT's opened up the doors and a man picked me up and put me on a stretcher in an ambulance. He did the same to Vic. They put him next to me, and he immediately grabbed my hand and held it. The doors closed and they drove us to the hospital.
