Meh, just a quickie. I needed to update my account with something! I'm not necessarily a Toko fan myself, but Zuko and Toph as butt buddies is cute.

"Fire Lord Zuko, huh?" she repeated, placing her hands on her hips. "I'm starting to think it's a bit too mighty for you."

Toph laughed as the older teenager crossed his arms, his mouth frowning in dismay. What was to prospectively become a dual had become a mess of banter between the two. It had been merely days since Aang's defeat over Phoenix King Ozai, and as the tyrant sat rotting in his jail cell, his son had become the world's new savior. But already, Zuko had become subject to a heap of derision.

The newly crowned deity averted his eyes to the pond and the ducks skimming across its surface; pleasant memories of long ago flickered in the depths of his mind. He smirked, looking to the Blind Bandit as his brow rose in amusement, and chuckling, he slyly interjected, "It's better than Phoenix King, that's for sure."

The girl, staring blindly out into the distance, plopped down beside the sitting Zuko. She pursed her lips and grunted, propping her head against her hand.

"Yeah, I guess," she replied, her bare toes twitching.

Silence took the two. Not a spoken word was submitted to the conversation, and the only audible sound was the ambience of the pond and ducks chattering. The scarred man switched his attention to the earthbender beside him, and slicing through the noiseless abyss, he questioned, "So, what happens now? Where will you go?"

"Home, I guess," Toph muttered, sprawling herself out on the grass. She tucked her hands beneath her head. "It's been a while since I've been back home. I sent a letter to the folks a while back. Wonder if they got it... How about you?"

Zuko smiled. "My place is here," he stated, his heart skipped a beat as he spoke. Long had he wished to say such words. "Aang's put an end to the war, but now, it's my turn to help the world. My father left such a mess, and it's my duty to took charge for what he's done."

The girl's mouth twisted into a smirk, and sitting up from her position, she closed her eyes and nodded. Her arms crossed once more.

"Not a bad plan," she shot, chuckling after her words. Zuko followed suit, his face turning bright crimson from flattery.

Chewing at his lip, the firebender's smile broadened, and looking to the young woman, an idea blossomed in his head. "Y'know," he began, "my uncle's reopened his tea shop in Ba Sing Se. Everyone's going to be there in a month's time. Would you like to join us for a reunion?"

Toph's head turned to Zuko's direction, and although blind, she knew his face was an image of contentedness. "Sure," she answered, nodding. "It'd be my honor," she smiled, "Fire Lord Zuko."
