Summary: Sakura leaves.
It was a cool, sunny morning as the sun began to rise in Konoha. The silence was broken by the sobbing of a young pink-haired girl at a bridge. The tears streaked the young girl's face and silently and softly landed in the rushing river below her.
It was one day after the Chunin Exams and she was crying, but the reason for her tears was not because she hadn't become a chunin. It was because she was weak. She finally realized how much she got in the way and how she always endangered missions and for that she hated herself.
Not only was she endangering the mission, but also the lives of her comrades. She considered herself a pitiful excuse for a shinobi, much less a kunoichi.
The sea foamed eyed girl looked at her reflection in a river. She glared at herself, only to find her mirrored self glare back. She then began to examine herself. Wide forehead. Pink hair. Ugly, dull green eyes. Everything about her was hideous, or so she thought.
Suddenly, she grabbed a pebble that was lying innocently beside her and chucked it at her reflection. It immediately blurred.
"I…am…so…weak…"
"Why?" She closed her eyes and set to the task of racking her brain for anything that could make her stronger or allow her to stop being such a nuisance. She had convinced herself that she would no longer be the weak link of Team 7. She was going to be strong.
She ran home, packed a few clothes, blankets, food pills, all her kunai and shuriken, any medicines she had, and lots of water. She stared at the picture of Team 7 located on her dresser as she debated whether she should bring it our not. Finally, she decided against it. If she was ever captured by enemy nin, she would not be giving information about herself to them so easily. Plus, she wanted to forget about them. She needed to.
She definitely wasn't going to endanger her comrades. Not ever again and this would seem highly impossible if she wasn't there.
She stood at Konoha's gates and took one last look at her beloved city, where she had grown up at, where she made friends and foes, where she trained, where she loved and cared. One lone tear escaped her eyes, but she quickly brushed it away. Never again would she cry. Never.
And with those last few thoughts, Sakura Haruno was gone from the Village of Konoha.
