"It's fine," Dean grunts, "Can barely feel it."
"Then hold still and let me clean it." Sam moves in with a cotton ball saturated with peroxide. Dean's lower back is already sporting deep purple bruises that beautifully frame two long scratches.
"Ow," Dean grunts and jerks away in surprise when the cold liquid infiltrates the gashes.
"Hmmm, maybe you can feel it a little?" Sam asks as he gently pulls him back.
"It's fine." Dean asserts and then sucks in his breath as Sam uses light pressure to clean out the dried blood and grime, "It's just a little… tender."
