I had been married since I was 20. He was just... It. The one. We walked down the aisle together, We were always together ever since the beginning.

Now the next step was happening. We had walked into the adoption center not expecting to find anything, just wanting to look around. Little did we know she was there. When we talked to the lady, a very nice woman with very hairsprayed hair, she said,

"I believe i might have just the thing for you two. Hey, Jo? would you bring out the baby, please?" A young lady brought out a baby.

The baby had dark dark brown hair, pale skin, and a wide smile. She started giggling when Nico touched her, and grasped his hand. I could see him whispering to her as he took the bundle from the young lady's arms.

He looked at me, and his eyes told me he loved her already.

We both turned towards the woman, and she beamed.

"How lucky we all are to find loving parents for that baby. She was dropped off on our doorstep a couple days ago, and has been crying ever since. She only quieted for you. She was found with this note." She handed me a note that said,

Please take care of my baby. Her father was a brave man, so i hope she will be just like him. She already has his hair. When her father left us, i knew i couldn't take care of her. I am honestly heartbroken having to give her up. This is my only option. Promise to give her a good home.

Thank you so much.

Huh. unknown father, dark hair. huh.

"Thank you so much, ma'am. she is so perfect." I said. I gave her a hug, and we did paperwork and left with our baby. Nico wouldn't let go of her.

A little bit into the drive back to our apartment, Nico whispered,

"Her name is Bianca."

"Yes it is. Bianca Jade di Angelo." I had taken Nico's name when we got married.

We smiled at each other, and then down at her. she was gripping Nico's finger and looking somber. I loved her so, so, so, so much already.

We were blessedly unprepared.
