They ran down the street holding hands, talking about science, technology, and history. They were the perfect match for each other, or so they thought. They were working on a project, the both of them, that would change humanity forever. If word got out of the project before it was complete, the lab where they worked would be broken into and ransacked. But that didn't matter to him, all he cared about was him being with her. He turned to her and pulled out a small box. He opened it to show a beautiful diamond. As clear, as lit up, as beautiful, as a chandelier. She got really excited and screamed that she would. They hug each other and kissed.
The wedding was beautiful. It was in the Grand Ballroom at the building of Science and Technology in Paris. Long rolls of while ran from ceiling to floor, it was as white as heaven. In the middle was a large, golden, chandelier. He stood at the front of the room. The music started to play as she walked down the aisle, with her beautiful white gown and veil.
Suddenly, people started hearing a snapping sound, including both of them. Thinking that it was nothing, they went on with the ceremony.
If only it was "nothing".
Suddenly, the chandelier began to shake. He looked at the chandelier nervously, people at the wedding saw him and looked up at the chandelier, including her. SNAP! SNAP! SNAP! The sound was getting louder. SNAP! SNAP! SNAP! The chandelier was shaking harder. SNAP!
The chandelier began to fall. Before anyone could react, she was crushed underneath it. People were screaming, the bride was crushed. The chandelier was large enough to cover the body, nobody could see her, but they all knew her fate. He ran up to the disaster area. He was yelling, asking if she could hear him. He eventually gave up after seeing the crystals near the bottom. They were once clear and heavenly, now they were a dark red and hellish.
The police department came, along with the fire department and an ambulance. The fire department managed to lift up the chandelier, revealing her red, penetrated body.
Bentley woke up from this horrible nightmare, to one just as awful, in his mind at least. He sat up and looked in his hands, he had fallen asleep with a picture of the both of them in his was alone, cold, and miserable. Penelope had vanished yesterday, he had no idea where she was, or how to start looking for her. What could have happened to her?
He felt a weird bump in his lab coat pocket. He put his hand in his pocket and shivered. He pulled out a small box, inside was a ring. Bentley was planning on proposing to Penelope yesterday, before she had vanished. He slowly worked his way into his wheelchair. He didn't want to do anything any more, without her, he was empty.
It was then that the alarm system on the Thievius Raccoonus went off.
