Prologue
A lone figure stood in a pitch black room watching an old fashioned TV that was showing the future of a brave teenager and how his life would end in a tragic way. The man was transfixed onto the screen and didn't know when another figure entered the room.
"You watch, yet you do nothing. Kronos, you know what you have to do if you want to save him. Why haven't you done it yet?" the new figure asked.
"I do nothing because I know what will happen to me if I do help him. If I were to help, then that would be going against the ancient laws and I would fade do to my lack of energy to withstand the punishment. Unlike you, Chronos, I cannot return here from the land of the faded. The Void would have permanent control of me, "Kronos replied.
"What is wrong with the Void that you would not want to go back to see your wife? She misses you and just wants to be with the man she married before he ate his children in an attempt to protect his seat of power."
"Chronos, there is not doubt in me that she hates me for eating Hestia and the others. I believe you are just trying to give me false hope to save him."
"If I were, then Rhea wouldn't have sent me personally to get you back to her. She just wants your apology and that you won't do it again and then she wants to start your relationship with her all over again. She has forgiven you several millennia ago and you are delaying the inevitable. Think about it, would you?"
With that, Chronos vanished, leaving Kronos all alone once again. After a few minutes, he started watching the TV again and saw that on it was the boy watching helplessly as his friend rode on his bronze dragon and got hit by a fireball that killed the friend. That left Kronos thinking of how the boy could have stopped this from happening if he had given the boy his gift.
Once he thought that, he did not hesitate to say, "I, Kronos, give Perseus Jackson immortality, my domains, and memories so that he does not make the same mistakes that I have. May he use his new power wisely and kindly."
And with that, Kronos' form flickered and disappeared. Joining his wife, Rhea, in the land of Void.
