This was an old English assignment I had, and I decided to post it up. I had to mimic the style of Chaucery of The Canterbury Tales.

1 The Duelist's Tale

In a wondrous place known as the Ohtori School,

A young freshman came and asked for a duel.

A gentleman passed, with a stare careful and wise,

And looked at this young fellow, who seemed full of lies.

The duelist sported a boys' gear with white laces

But this boys' clothes curved in all the wrong places.

The duelist's stance was straight and erect

But something didn't seem just quite correct.

He finally noted the long locks of pink hair

(Which is completely natural of course, I swear!)

And her God's plenty that seemed a man's toy,

This fair duelist was far from a boy.

After a lingering look, he remarked with a smile,

"I'll take you, sweet duelist child."

A glare, a flash, and he was pinned on the floor.

"I'm a prince, you fool. Want any more?"

A prince? "A prince!" he pleasantly said, enamored.

"A fool," she helpfully pointed with her sword.

Thrust, parry, and she hesitantly told her tale

Of a man she so admired, when she was frail.

He seemed so full of magic, this incredible prince

So she vowed to be just like him, then and ever since.

"Magic, eh?" the gentleman said, with another smirk.

"Pretending to be a man… what a lovable quirk."

She furiously struck at him and he fell on his arse.

"You're more of a princess… stop this stupid farce."

The duelist sneered and held the blade to his neck.

"I win!" she crowed and left him in a wreck.

"Did you really?" he watched as she waltzed across the room.

An innocent smiling face, pale as the moon,

Large narrowed eyes, lovely and fair.

A prince, she says, and flips her hair.
