I know it's time,
Though I don't know why,
You had to go,
And leave me to cry.

I wished it were me,
As I watched your last, painful days,
You gave it your all,
Now I give you my praise.

So now make your way to heaven,
Rise up to the skies,
Just don't look back,
And see the tears in my eyes.

The sword that struck you,
Was meant for me,
Thanks for my life,
But did you have to leave?

It's for the best,
This I know,
So I put on a smile as I watched you go.
