Tohru looked up at Zero thoughtfully. "Are you sure?" she said. He gazed at her with surprised eyes, "Of course, I want to be with you and the sooner I am the better." "But what about Yuuki, I've noticed the chemistry between the two of you "Tohru exclaimed. "She means nothing to me now, you are the one I want to be with" Zero says, trying to sound truthful. Tohru thinks about Zero is saying, but is still so unsure about whether to believe him or not. She wants to believe him because of what her heart feels, but then again she doesn't want to get her heart broken as after what happened with Kyo, she doesn't think she could handle another setback.
Zero sighed, "Tohru you are the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. Sweetie you know Yuuki has nothing on you. You are kind, compassionate, care for everyone except yourself and it's about time someone took care of you. I want to be that person, the one who you can turn to no matter what. I have fallen for you and am in love. I have never loved anyone more than I love you. These feelings are real and I want to stick by you no matter what."
Tohru gazes into the distance and exclaims, "But what about Yuuki's feelings? Huh, you say you want me, but where do her feelings come into this? Won't she be heartbroken? I really don't want to be the cause of an upset; I would rather sit back and watch while other people stay happy."
"Tohru this is why I love you so much, all you care about is how everyone else feels. What about yourself? Don't you deserve some happiness?" Zero says.
"Happiness isn't everything Zero. I would rather be miserable every day and see my friends happy rather than me be happy and they be miserable" Tohru says meekly, knowing a comeback is about to happen. "Tohru, Tohru, Tohru must you always be so down on yourself? There is no reason that both you and your companions can not both be happy, is there not? I for one will not rest until you at least still some small amount of happiness into your world. For all your good deeds, you deserve a small amount of gratitude at the very least" says Zero in a serious tone.
