I'm Sorry
Kai, Pixal, and Zane sit at a table in the food court of a mall, the boys digging ravenously into his food. Pixal taps Zane on the shoulder, and points at a blond sitting nearby, saying, "Isn't that the girl from the beach?"
Zane glances at her and responds, "Yes, she is."
"That's the girl that hit on you!" Kai exclaims, "Wow, she's pretty! I want her number!"
Zane chuckles as they get up from the table, throwing their food containers into the garbage can close by. "Go ahead if you want. Pixal and I will go look around."
Kai waves as his brother and future sister-in-law depart; then ambles up to the blond. "Excuse me, lady. My brother told me you wanted my number the other day. Is that true?"
The girl glances at him and blushes in embarrassment, saying nervously, "Yes, I did, but you see, um, I am not available anymore."
A tall, handsome, African American man taps Kai on the shoulder from behind, asking in a deep voice, "Do you know my girlfriend?"
Kai turns and swallows. "Um, my brother saw her the other day."
"It's okay, Jerry. I'll tell you about it later," the girl says to her boyfriend; then speaks to Kai. "Could you tell your friend I am sorry about the robot thing the other day, please?"
"Sure, I will." Kai responds, feeling uncomfortable with Jerry eyeing him suspiciously and leaving hastily.
