Colors
Raven walked in to the common room and gasped at the sight before her. The room had already been mostly decorated for Starfire's birthday party and it was 7:00 in the fricken morning. Nobody got up that early in the tower. She was surprised if even the fearless leader would be down here by 8:00. As she walked to the adjoined kitchen a green mouse landed down out of the cabinet onto the floor. Raven went to shriek, but the mouse quickly formed into a human shape and placed its hand over her mouth.
"Shh, Rae god I'm sorry I startled you. I was looking up in the cabinet where your box of tea is for the neon food coloring so I could make icing for Star's cake." Raven took a deep breath to calm herself down. "It's okay Beastboy," she said barely above whisper level. "Do you want to finish helping me set up? I mean we have to be quiet but since I'm doing it with you so I see no worries." "Okay that sounds good, what do you want me to do?" "Help me get the confetti balloons up with the net." Raven just nodded her head.
As the balloons floated up toward the ceiling they followed them with the net that would be released. Raven chuckled to herself causing Beastboy to raise a brow in his direction. Unfortunately, this motion looked rather ridiculous on him. Then sudden burst of laugher caused Raven to loose her concentration. She fell to the floor with a thud. "Dude what was so funny?" Asked Beastboy landing next to Raven on the floor. Before she could tell him the look on your face he cut her off. "And I mean the ridiculous look on my face."
"I was just thinking that anyone who could walk in here and not tell us who all these decorations are for is a complete idiot." Just then Cyborg walked in and looked around rather confused. "Who's the decorations for?" Raven and Beastboy just looked at each other and laughed. "Okay…I am definitely missing something." "Umm… yeah you're missing Star's birthday." "Oh my god! That explains all the freakish colors. I'm not going to lie I honestly thought you guys were playing another gay joke on Robin. I have her gift I just forgot her party was today, my systems only have y'all birthdays memorized. I really need to update my schedule."
"You know what I'm wondering about?" "What?" "Why did you pick the colors you picked? What do they represent?" "Umm well Star gave me a list of colors." "That's no true, she has no idea we're throwing her this party." Beastboy just scratched the back of his head nervously. "Well I picked pink cuz its Star's favorite color, red reminds me of the bulls in Spain. You know how determined they are, well it reminds me of us. Blue reminds me of the water all around us and of your old cloak, which makes me think of memories and home, you know belonging somewhere. Green makes me think of the planet we try so hard to protect and well it reminds me of well me. I try to make you guys laugh so it reminds me of when I succeed. And purple, well purple reminds me of you. So that makes me think of love and togetherness. Something that I must say this group wouldn't have without Star.
Raven looked at Beastboy shocked. "What?" " Those are really, really good reasons." "Umm, thanks." With that Raven and Beastboy left the room together. Both suddenly respecting the others ability to think and understand.
"All the colors in the world cant mean anything if they can't fit together in some way."
