Chapter One, Gramophone

In the last few days, The Fabrication Machine created the Walkers as his master requested for. Each one designed to be unstoppable by the enemy forces they were to face on the battle field, and, now with the new technology uncovered by the science team. They were to hunt down any living survivor through heat sensors, and emulate them without hesitation.

The Walkers, quoting his master 'Was to become a new era of soldiers'.

B.R.A.I.N. Didn't see what he meant by that. All he could see, were companions in the dark factory he called home. After all, besides coming to request more Walkers, his new master never visited him. Not like his old master did.

Oh, how the machine missed him so. The way he would play chess with him day or night, all the toys they would create side by side. Even the melody this master played on that gramophone.

The first thing they made together...

The first thing his new master threw away...

It was the only thing he could remember his kind master by, and the harsh one threw it away like it was a defected machine. Never to be seen again at the hands of the humans guards paroling outside. Every now and then, he would hear it's sweet tune floating on the breeze, but it was short lived. If only his old master and him could built another.

An idea came to B.R.A.I.N. If his creations could seek out hiding humans, than wouldn't they be able to find him. Find kind master, and bring him back here. The machine wasn't sure, but it was worth it if he could just see him again.

Quickly, he began working on his Walkers, but instead of adding the murderous chip he was to implant in for war. He chose a few to carry on without one. These were to go from house to house, building to building in search for the one person he wanted the most.

Little did he know...it was to late...

Any way, this is my thought on why B.R.A.I.N. snapped.

Seeing a deleted scene from 9. Where B.R.A.I.N. could see through the Winged Beast eyes. I can see him looking through one of his machine's sights at the broking building the Scientist was taking shelter in, and seeing his master dead on the floor after 9's creation.
Thus, the reason why he hate them, because he knew the stitchpunks killed him, but what he didn't know how the Scientist died.
So after that, he snapped, and started making real killing machines to kill all the humans because they were the ones that took the Scientist away, so he couldn't protect him.
And the reason he left an unconscious 9 alive, was because he think 9 was dead in the machine. I don't have anything against 9, it was the only thing I could think of to save his life.

...Oh, and the gramophone B.R.A.I.N. was talking about, was indeed the same one in the movie. I just followed after what the commentators said on the DVD. :)

B.R.A.I.N., Walkers, The Scientist, and the Stitchpunks all belong to Shane Acker. (The God XD )
