It was taco day at Cheyenne Mountain and SG1 joined by General O'Neill who was down from Washington were enjoying them. "These tacos are great" Jack said as he shoved the rest of his fifth taco into his mouth. "Indeed" Teal'c said in between bites Vala was scarfing down her 6th taco in sort of a contest with Jack. Winning too when the base went into lockdown and then dark not even emergency lighting was operating.
"What now" Sam said as she got up to get the flashlights that were kept in the kitchen. She had no sooner set off for them when the group heard some glass shatter and Sam say "Damn it". "You ok Sam" Daniel said as a flashlight lit in the kitchen "Yeah I'm fine there's just Jello everywhere now" she said as she walked back to the table. "Here everyone take a flashlight" Sam said as she passed them out.
"There were no alarms or anything the mountain just locked down and went dark" said Cameron. "Yeah I don't know what happened but we have to try and get to the control room" Jack said as he clicked on his flashlight and got up "That means I win" said Vala.
"Yes you win now let's go" Jack said with a slight smile. They started walking toward the control room but all the blast doors were down and without backup power they weren't going up.
"What kind of plan is in that head of yours" Jack said "Hold on I'm thinking" Sam said as she got an idea and started taking the cover off the card reader. When she had gotten the cover off she had Jack pull down one of the emergency lights. Which for some unknown reason weren't working. Then Jack disconnected one and it lit right up. "The main computer must be offline" Sam said while taking the light apart.
She pulled the battery out of it and connected it to the card reader which promptly lit up red. Sam swiped her card and the door popped open about 4 inches just enough to squeeze Through. Sam grabbed the battery and squeezed through the door every one else following behind. The Gate room was eerily quiet as they walked toward the other blast door. Sam repeated the procedure on this blast door and they walked to the control room.
When they got to the control room it was void of any anyone. Sam walked over to the control counsel and saw that the screen was blank and started reboot procedures. Sam pressed the last button in the procedure and the computer roared to life. The computer completed its boot procedure but something was not right with the boot sequence.
The lights began to turn on and the team turned their flashlights off "that's so much better" said Vala. "Yes but now I have to see what caused the crash". Sam said as she started debugging the thousands of lines of code that was the base computers OS.
