Chapter 1
Rikku waded in the water on Besaid Beach, just staring out into the vast ocean; she'd been everywhere but always returned her; to visit Tidus, Yuna, Wakka, Lulu and the other islanders. It was something new for Rikku, one of the loud-mouths of the ex-guardians to be silent, but here she was. . . Many people had walked passed her, stopping for a moment to ask her why she was just standing there, but decided against it and continued on their way. It was a good thing too, if they had asked she wouldn't have had an answer, not one semblance of one. She would have just stared at them until they got uncomfortable and walked away.
She sighed heavily and walked back to shore, collecting her shoes as she passed, not bothering to slip them on. Rikku came here and visited some of her closest friends, but she left always feeling empty; envious of the relationships. She'd had a few boyfriends, even a couple of girlfriends, in the past, but nothing serious. Lulu and Wakka were completely happy with each other and their baby was one of the cutest Rikku has ever seen, Tidus and Yuna are trying for one, but to no avail.
While Rikku pined over not being in a relationship her friends threw random people at her, hoping she would fall madly in love with a complete stranger. Tidus had literally thrown one of the members of an opposing Blitzball team out of the Sphere Pool, because he thought she would like him. After dozens of her friends failed attempts at playing matchmaker Rikku tired of it and blew a fuse, telling her friends to stay out of her love life and the like; which they honored, for about a week…
Halfway back to the village a certain guy popped into her head, one of the guys Tidus had insisted she would like, Zack, Zane, no… Zamuel, he was nice enough and Rikku believed that she could actually work with this one, but he left the island for some weird reason, Rikku never really bothered to ask. Though she missed him, in the weird way you miss someone you know nothing about, she hadn't had any contact with him in the past 5 or so months.
The village came into view and her normal uppity nature came back, albeit she was jealous of her friends' relationships she wouldn't show it.
In some weird way this was inspired by Letters to Juliet. . . I actually like it, so, whatever, I suppose. I'll post the next chapter in a couple of hours; hopefully I will have this finished by the end Winter Break, though I doubt it. . .
