Making Saint John Happy—A Drabble
Disclaimer—Still don't own 'em.
Another in my "Drabbles" series...taking a different route this time, writing it from Saint John's POV, in first-person. Enjoy!—robertwnielsen
It never took much to make me happy—time spent with my family, especially my brother, String, at the cabin. Even after our parents died, we still had Dom takin' care of us, just like he promised Mom & Dad. And flying, of course—that's something that makes String and me both happy—which was why we both went into 1st Air Cav when we joined the army. Even listening to that cello music String likes to play. Sure, it's depressing as all get out, but I enjoyed listening to String play. But since I came back, I've noticed String wasn't very happy. At least, not at first. Oh, he acted like it, but I could see he wasn't happy—but then one day everything changed, and he became more the younger brother I knew before Kelly was killed, and before I was captured by the North Vietnamese. I didn't get it at first, until one day, I saw him kissing that beautiful young woman who works with us—Caitlin. Dom told me they were together, and I saw how happy being with Caitlin made String. And that made me happiest of all, because I had my little brother back.
