"Loony Lovegood, are you out of your mind???" Ron Weasley exclaimed loudly, his forkful of bean and mash forgotten as he stared at his best friend Harry Potter in undisguised shock.

"Don't call her that" Harry replied quietly, running a hand through his messy black hair in a distracted fashion. He supposed dropping his news to the pair of them that he was in love with Luna Lovegood and had been for 5 months now, hadn't been one of his best ideas after all. Looking back he guessed he should have waiting till they were outside or up in the Gryffindor common room.

"That's rather startling news Harry" Hermione Granger commented faintly as she lowered her knife and fork to her plate. Harry glanced at her with raised eyebrow as he took in her expression but she was saved from his question as Ron reinstated himself into the conversation. His own fork still hovering half way from his plate to his mouth

"Rather startling" he repeated in disbelief his gaze going to Hermione. "I think this warrants something bigger than rather startling" he turned to Harry in confusion "I don't get it mate. I always thought that you and Ginny would get back together… or something..." he stopped and shrugged helplessly, his face going red to the tip of his ears. Harry shook his head, he took a bite of his Sheppard pie, chewing it and swallowing it before he continued

"Naw we used to be but now we are just good mates, nothing more" he clarified looking at both of them before smiling slightly "Beside she likes Seamus at the moment"

"Seamus" Ron roared, his head whipping round so fast that Harry was surprised he didn't suffer whiplash. Ron's eyes found the blond Irish boy within seconds. Seamus glanced at him looking confused and rather nervously as Ron continued to glare at the other boy.

Harry smiled in satisfaction and turned his attention to Hermione who had been surprisingly quiet for herself. Still she was the voice of reason in hers and Ron's relationship and she was the one he needed to convince.

"You may not like her a great deal or even respect her but I do. I accept everything about her and you might not view her as the best match for me or the right person but I'm asking you to trust my judgement on this. I know what I'm doing and I know who I need" Hermione searched his eyes with her own and nodded, sighing slightly as she did.

"Ok" she said slowly "I may not agree but I do trust you, if you know she's the one than it is nothing to do with me" Harry smiled at her. One down, one to go. They both turned their attention to Ron who seemed to have decided that however long he glared at Seamus; the other boy was not going to burst into flames and had given up, turning his attention back to them.

"Yeah you have my support mate" he said in response to their look "as long as you do one small thing for me" Harry frowned in caution at the other boy

"Which is?" he prompted. Ron leaned forward and grinned

"You can bloody well tell my mum and there is going to be no wedding between you and young Ginny" as both him and Hermione burst out laughing Harry swallowed hard. The stuff he did for love.

There you go! My first bit of straight fluff. I hope you all enjoy it. Please review but if you want to flame than go away it's not big and it's nor clever! Thanks xxx
