Written for a challenge in Mrs. Hudson's Kitchen.

I don't own BBC's Sherlock characters, I'm just trying to feed them!


"John, do you know how to cook?"

"Sure Sherlock, why do you ask?"

"Well, seeing as how you always complain about my experiments covering the work surfaces in the kitchen, you don't do much cooking except for making tea and toast." Sherlock replied nonchalantly.

John was annoyed "Well it's a whole lot more than-" He stopped mid rant, realization hitting. "Are you asking me to cook for you?"

Sherlock looked nervous "Mrs. Hudson is out and-"

John smiled "It's alright. I learned to cook a bit in uni. I had some friends from other countries that brought their country's cuisine to the mix as well." John was bustling in the kitchen, looking into cabinets and hunting for supplies.

"I remember my Iranian roommate used a lot of rice in his cooking. He either made a stew with white rice on the side, or mixed some vegetables in it." John related "We were actually quite good cooks. Now, if I can find the rice and start frying some vegetables, it'll be ready in half an- "

Sherlock's stomach began to rumble. John gave up searching and stood. "You know what? I have a better idea." He grabbed a few slices of bread and cheddar cheese. After a few minutes John handed a toasted cheese sandwich to Sherlock and he took a bite.
