SPN Drabble Challenge
Prompt: Damp
Words: 230 (Why?!)
Disclaimer: I claim no rights to different species of vampires, monsters, confused hunters, or overdramatic girls. Just my writing.
Author's Note: I've noticed that a lot of people wonder about Sam and Dean hunting in other universes - as I do myself - and this fandom is one I've seen more than once. So here's a double drabble of the crack! variety.
Blame lack of sleep for this. Honestly, I don't know where my mind has been lately.
...
She stared, pale beams of sunlight illuminating the wiry, perfect-featured teen. His tawny hair gleamed, his topaz eyes glistened with the uncertainty of acceptance, and his skin… it lit up like a thousand white gemstones, sparkling pockets of starlight in the forest.
Her breath caught at the dazzling miracle before her. Monsters weren't supposed to be this beautiful, were they?
Schlinkk!
Suddenly, his head was flying off his marble shoulders and rolling to a stop at her feet. Horrified screams exited her mouth as her soulmate's unattached head looked sorrowfully at her.
"Light 'im up, Sammy."
The mysterious men drew closer and she screeched indignantly.
"Nooo! You killed him!"
Both slayers jumped back at her outburst.
"What in the hell was that?!"
"We were supposed to be together forever…"
The unimpressive teenage girl collapsed into a huddle in the damp grass, laying shell-shocked beside her beloved and protectively shielding him from further harm.
"…Edward…"
"Maybe he wasn't hurting her?"
"…Edward…"
"Either that, or she's the craziest vampire-obsessed girl we've ever rescued."
She repeated his name in hushed, heartbroken tones, over and over again.
"We should probably leave, Dean," Sam whispered.
"Yeah, I'm with you."
Abandoning the glittering corpse and the grieving teen, they hiked back to the road, confused and just a little creeped out.
"You think they're supposed to do that?"
"Do what?" Sam frowned.
Dean's voice pitched. "Sparkle!"
A/N #2: I meant no offense to any "sparkle" fans. I've watched the films myself and even read a book or two, which I enjoyed. Also guilty of picking teams for the unbelievably bad (movie) series. Just poking fun... Bella would probably never act like that. :)
For anyone who argues that Twilight vamps can't be killed that easily, it seems they can be in the movie-verse. Like when Aro tore Carlisle's head off in battle... Plus, with the Winchesters' experience and magical know-how, this would undoubtedly happen.
Why am I explaining this?
