"Mother!!!!" The little boy ran to the side of the woman lying on the ground. He collapsed at her side, breathing deeply, trying to fend the tears from his eyes. Worry filled him.
It was dark then out of no where, the sound of gentle whimpering was at his side, he looked down to find the face of his little brother, he was staring ahead, scared, sad, alone.
Then a sensation stormed trhough him, a single tear rolled down his cheek he was reaching out for something…then he looked ahead and saw the diminishing form of his brother. He felt the throbbing from his leg. He was quivering, the blood pooled around him. Then Al was gone. The sight before him sent him into wailing. The mutated form… he felt like vomiting. Then his head got about him, and he reached for the suit of armor, tears clouding his eyes.
Playground school bell rings again
Rainclouds come to play again
Has no one told you she's not breathing?
Hello, I'm giving your mind someone to talk to
Hello
His eyes opened in a flash. Sweat covered him, his breathing deepening. Then he gathered composure, and sat up, swallowing hard.
A dream. It was just a dream. A familiar dream, true, but only a dream. It wasn't ever the same, and it won't ever be. The hole he wore dep inside covered by fake emotion. The hurt, the pain, of everything he had been through sunk in slowly. It had ben sinking in since he was eight. It wasn;t going to stop, even after death. He stood, and walked quietly out the door. The cool air was new, but not a hard comprimise. He sat underneath a tree, and looked out serenly at the landscape.
"Mother…" he said slowly, "I'm sorry…"
If I smile and don't-believe
Soon I will wake from this dream
Don't try to fix me I'm not broken
Hello, I'm the lie living for you so you can hide
Don't cry…
"It's not your fault…" he heard from behind him.
"Why are you here?" he asked innocently.
"I was outside when you…" She didn't have to say more, she knew that.
"Winry…" he said as if about to say something.
"Hm?" she said, barely.
"I… well…Thank you…" he said in an almost inaudible tone.
She couldn't help but smile somewhat.
"Ed, your mom would be proud of you." Winry said in a whisper, something only he could hear, something only he needed to know.
Ed thought to himself. It's as if the years he'd spent for the one goal, all leading him back here. It seems as though it were all a dream. As if he could just wake up and see his mom smiling, not have to face the cold, sad days anymore.
Suddenly, I know I'm not sleeping
Hello, I'm still here.
All that's left of yesterday
She sat down next to and leaned her head on his shoulder.
He looked down and grabbed her hand.
