Of Gunshots and Changes

Remembering his promise Vash turned and walked into the horizon. His red coat was left behind to flutter in the wind, a memory of the battle that took place not long ago. He readjusted Knives over his shoulder minding the bullet wounds he had inflicted on the plant. Keeping to himself the legendary gunman thought of how the events turned out. He was happy at how the battle ended. Maybe Knives would realize that Vash was not weak and change his view of him and humans. As long as he realizes his mistakes his sins could be forgiven.

Maybe Knives could learn to live peacefully with humans. An unthinkable thing, but one could hope right? Well they would see how everything worked out once all the wounds were healed. Speaking of which, Vash reminded himself, hopefully Meryl and Millie wouldn't mind caring for another plant. Vash grinned, when Knives woke up he would have to introduce the homicidal plant to donuts. Ah the sugary goodness of those tasty pastries! If there was a God Vash would say it had to be donuts!

The unconscious plant in question started to stir on Vash's shoulder. Glancing down at him, Vash continued to walk. Slowly Knives woke and took a second to get a hold of his surroundings. Moving cautiously he looked up at Vash, silently questioning the plant. Shifting Knives, again, into a more comfortable position, Vash answered a soft smile playing at his lips.

"Because you're my brother!"

To Vash it made all the sense in the world, but to another it left one questioning his sanity…

A/n: A little brotherly moment, that popped into my mind watching Trigun at 5 in the morning, before school. It was the episode, I believe it's called…"Under the Sky So Blue" or something sweatdrops I forget sorry! I apologize it's not to well written, but I had to get it out of my head after having the idea bounce around all day in school. R/R please! Thanks!
