Quite honestly the monkey team just didn't know what do. Never before had they seen their leader in such a state of rage. Not Chiro at least. Mandarin on the other hand… Which is why they are so worried. Anger like this always heralded something bad for them.

Chiro was a sight to see. Pacing in the control room with his shoulders squared and his back straight. His face was like set in stone, his eyes hard as steel and every bit as cold. His normaly tidy hair was a mess from running his hands through it, his tie loosened and his shirt wrinkled he looked stormy. Worried and afraid they didn't dare approach him lest they irritate him further. Until…

The furious youth stopped his pacing and looked down when he felt a gentle, almost reluctant tug on his pants. The anger marring his handsome face softened a little and a bit warmth returned to his steel blue eyes. Because how could he not when dear Nova was there, looking at him with fear on her face and in her eyes?

The only time she showed any signs of fear was when Mandarin brought their nightmares to life. And now she was afraid of him, of what he might do. He HAD to calm down because this was reminding his family of Mandarin and what an abusive leader he had been. He had to show them, remind them that he was nothing like Mandarin. He would never hurt them.

He kneeled slowly, taking care to not make any sudden moves lest he scare Nova more than he already has. Once he is on the ground he gets a hold of her as gently as he can almost like she will break if he grabs her to tightly she will break and places her on his lap as he sits down with his back propped against the wall.

For a while they both just sat there not saying anything. Nova ,for her part, was relieved that he softened as he looked at her unlike Mandarin who would never soften and would be irritated. But this was Chiro, he would never let her get her let alone hurt her.

Chiro sat on the metal floor of the robot with Nova on his lap. His head was thrown back against the wall as he gazed at the ceiling trying to reign in his temper as rubbed Nova's back. Her head aginst his stomach and her weight on his lap seemed to ground him to now enough to calm his rage.

After a while his heart beat slowed to it's natural rythm, the red flush on his face dispersed and some of the sweat dried so his shirt no longer clung to his body. Nova chanced a look at his face to see his eyes were back to being the blue pools she was used to and the terrifying rage had dried up.

"Nova" He said her name quitely, gently a stark contrast against the angry, harsh tones he used ranting and raving mere minutes ago. "I'm so sorry. I scared and the team. You are my family."

She let out a sigh of relief. Mandarin's eyes would never be so soft, his voice so gentle and he would never ever apologise no matter how wrong he was. There was nothing to worry about. Their concerns about him cracking under the pressure of such a voilent war, at such tender age were unfounded. He was nothing like Mandarin.

"It's okay." She reassured him. "And I'm sorry too." He didn't ask what for maybe knew what it was about or let it go for now as they returned to the team. He had other amends to make and some quality time to spend with his family.
