Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz had Perry the Platypus trapped in a beautifully ironic trap when Iron Man flew in and saved the little turquoise colored mammal. Luckily, Iron Man had upgraded his suit with coconut cannons. SHIELD believed this to be a genius idea and from then on updated all of their equipment to have a coconut cannon. Now, whenever there was a threat to SHIELD they could just blast it with a coconut cannon and wa-la! Threat eliminated.
Phil Coulson had his own private coconut cannon which he used to get revenge on Loki (for stabbing him in the heart). Loki, the poor fellow, was pummeled by coconuts, which caused him to transform into Dr. Coconut. He was now so invincible that Combat Carl was going to die. Dr. Coconut took out his coconut bazooka and almost shot Combat Carl! Combat Carl ducked and got away, just in the nick of time. Recruiting the help of Big Bertha and Squirrel Girl, he saved the world.
