My first Captain Swan fic. It's been awhile and I'm rusty. Inspired by a Taylor Swift's "Wildest Dreams". I know, I know but inspiration comes in many forms...

She was starting to lose hope. She shook her head as if to clear her ever growing despair. She was a Charming. But also the Dark One. And the Saviour. But who saves the Saviour? An hysterical laugh slips passed her lips closely followed by a sob. She was drowning, he had been right... the darkness was creeping up on her. But in truth really it had tangled itself in every part of her. That's how it felt but she was fighting it. She gritted her teeth, she would not give up. She had a son waiting for her. Her parents. Him.
She should have kissed him. Held his hand to her thumping heart just a moment longer. She had seen how his heart had skipped a beat. She had seen him trying to form words- to reply to her declaration of love. And she had known if he had repeated those three words back she could not go through with what she was about to do. She would have allowed them all to be consumed by the darkness. And so she had pushed him away and thrust the dagger into the cool night's air. Because he was both her weakness and her strength. He had become part of her. He had put her broken heart back together using pieces of his own broken one. In her worst moments she thought of his lopsided grin, his soft caress on her face, his lips on hers, his hand tangled in her hair. His blue eyes, deep as any ocean, haunted her. She saw his face, full of disbelief and sorrow, every time she closed her eyes. Killian.
Emma had no doubt that somewhere out there in another realm, he was looking for her. Her parents. Her son. She had to believe they would find her. Find her and save her before she was completely consumed by the darkness tethered to her.
It was this that helped her struggle against the darkness, to keep her on her path back to her family. Back to him.
