Beth's POV

It had been 3 months since Rick brought the citizens of Woodbury back to the prison. It had been... Hectic since. There wasn't much for me to do. They said I was "too young" to go on Runs or even work the fences. So now all I ever do is "Run a daycare" all day. I love the children, but I don't want to do this forever.

Today had been the most trying day. Baby Judith was sick so I had to keep her away from the other kids while still taking care of all of them on my own. Sometimes Maggie or Carol will help me. Not anymore. Carol is too busy being doctor with daddy and Maggie doing the wall and runs.

Although it's busy and tiring, it feels like a real place. New people, almost every week. I sort of like it.

"Hey Beth..." I looked up from my journal I was writing in to see Rick standing at my door. I closed my journal and stood.

"Yeah?" I replied, pulling my hair back.

"Daryl is back from the run. He brought some stuff back for your daycare. If you want you can go down to the cars now and take it up to the library or tomorrow morning." He said backing up and wiping sweat from his forehead.

"Alrighty I'll go down there now." I replied as he began walking down the hallway.

I turned and grabbed the jacket I had on one of my hooks along my wall. I pulled my jacket and zipped it. I shoved my bare feet into my brown ankle boots. Then making my way to the main doors and hopped outside. People were walking from cars to the steps with boxes. I looked around for Daryl to get the stuff he got for me.

He was leaning against the truck, cigarette in hand talking with Carol. I smiled to myself and walked over to them.

"Hope I'm not interruptin' anthin'." I smirked over to them. They turned to me; Carol smiled and shook her head.

"Nah, just chattin'. Bye pookie , Night Beth." She turned and walked up to cell block B. "Oh Beth. I'll be available to help you tomorrow. I have some ideas to renovate the library to make it bigger." Carol yelled to me before grabbing a box and walking in.

Daryl dropped his finished cigarette and turned to me.

"Hey Daryl I heard you got some stuff for me. " I said looking at the people getting stuff.

"Yeah, went by a nursery or two; Barely touched. Got quite a few stuff should hold you over for the next two months or so." He said then pointed at 8 boxes and three bags full of stuff.

I smiled "Thanks Daryl. I know we will use every bit of it!" I walked over to the boxes and slung a bag on my shoulder then grabbing two boxes.

I walked over to the Main building and propped open the door. Rick had been working on the generators (which to our favor were solar powered). The main building had power, so I flicked on the lights. I passed some of the office doors and arrived to the library.

I had already had a few baby things in there. But we were dangerously low on everything. I dropped the boxes on the table and sat the bag on the floor. I turned to walk out as Daryl walked in with the bags and a box. I smiled and grabbed the bags from his arms.

"Thanks Daryl. But I got it." I laughed. He handed me the box.

"This is for you. I got you a few things fa' your room." he said. "We'll I have midnight watch so I'll be seein' ya." he then turned and left.

I sat the box on counter where the computers once were. After about 15-20 minutes I had all the boxes and stuff.

I started to empty them and clear off shelves. He got me bottles, formula, baby food, chalk, crayons, clothes, diapers, cloth, books, coloring books and so much more.

I organized everything and cleaned up some of the mess the children made earlier. I almost left when I remembered the other box Daryl had. I walked over to it and opened it. It was filled with all kinds of stuff. A battery powered MP3, string lights, a magazine, nail polish, small signs, curtains, an instant film camera, all of the sorts. He must've raided a teenage girl's room. I smiled.

After I completely redecorated, dressed in sweats, I pulled out my knapsack from under my bed. I opened it and dug for my box of batteries. I grabbed two small ones and shoved them in the MP3. I powered it on and went through some of the playlist I clicked on a random song and shoved the ear buds in my ears. I flicked off the lights in my cell, and closed the curtains. I crawled into bed and fell asleep to the first song I've heard in over a year.

My alarm sounded at 5:30 am. I wasn't really happy when I awoke. I threw on some jeans and a clean tee shirt. I brushed out my hair and combed it into a tight bun. I brushed my teeth, slid my black combat boots on, and shoved a light hoodie on. Finally I grabbed my knapsack on and slid my hunting knife into the sheath.

Every morning I went and woke up daddy to help him get ready. This morning was unusual. I walked two cells down to see his blinds ajar. I peeked inside to see his room cleaned and bed made.

"What the hell..?" I walked down the corridor quietly passing the cells to the main room.

Daddy was perched over a book and a can of peaches. His crutches we're know where near him.

"Daddy? Where are your crutches? How'd ya get in here?" I questioned walking over to where he was sitting. He had a sweet smile. One I haven't seen since Mom died. He pointed put to his leg.

"Daryl found this on his last run. Fits like a glove." He replied looking up at me. I was relieved. He'd be unsteady at first, but he'll be quicker than he'd be with just crutches.

"That's great!" I smiled brightly and giving him a tight hug. I walked over to the cabinets and pulled out a can of strawberries and a bowl. I emptied about half of it into the bowl, leaving the other half in the can for Maggie or someone. Grabbing one of the many spoons we had, I made my way back to daddy sitting down to eat breakfast.

We had light talk, discussing newest plans for the prison. He explained we were thinking of putting sharp wood post along the gates pathway. Then, eventually, make them all around the fences. It would be great to go outside and fearing the first layer of fences could come down before you could say "Oh Shit!"

I finished my breakfast and did the few dishes located in the sink. Not only did we have power, we had running river water.

People began piling in with loud chatter as they ate their breakfast. I finished my morning chore. I walked back over to the main corridor to the first room. I knocked on the concrete beside it. I pulled open the curtain. Rick must've gone to have breakfast knowing I'd get Judy. She lay asleep in her crib. I smiled over at her. I gently ran my hand over her head. She began to slightly open her eyes. I let her wake up as I grabbed a clean onesie and diaper. She sat up and gave me a toothless smile.

Arriving at the daycare with Judy and another little girl named Angela, Carol was already sitting; Writing in a notebook. I placed Judith on the ground next to the baby toys and Angela trotted off with the other three year old Timothy.

I walked over and sat across from Carol.

"Whatcha writin'?" I questioned. She looked up at me and smiled.

"I took a supply count and figured when we'll need more stuff." she returned back to her 'Calculatin'.

"Seems, we won't need formula or diapers for another month!" She clasped her hands and checked her watch. "I have the meet at 4. But it's only 8, so what should we do?" She asked, standing up and closing the notebook.

"Hmmm, it's starting to get warm out. Daryl got chalk and we still have the volleyball and basketball. We should play outside!" I said excitedly.

At noon a 15 year old girl named Hana came across the blacktop with a box in hand. She was the one who usually came to bring the kids Lunch. She hung out with Carl, doing whatever it is the two do. She was a brave girl. Daryl found her with Timothy, her little brother. We didn't know the complete story but apparently her mother had died a month before. She knew how to survive, she was strong.

Lizzie starred at her. Lizzie was sort of jealous. Hana was only 3 years older. But we had a rule here. If you're under 13 you had to hang out at 'Beth's Daycare!' Hana smiled and sat the box at the picnic table I was seated at.

"Hey Beth! " she smiled to me.

"Hey Hana! What have you been doing all day?" I questioned. She blushed. I guess she had a crush on our little Carl. "Hung out with Carl again today?" I smirked.

"Oh, I think Maggie wants you. She's in her and Glenn's cell." She smiled and walked over to talk to Timothy and gave him a hug. I pulled myself up grabbed my bag and my unworn hoodie. Carol looked at me.

"Maggie needs me. I'll be back in an hour at the most!" I yelled over to Carol. She smiled and waved goodbye.

I walked by people doing whatever they do. As I approached Maggie's room the curtain was shut. I pulled open the curtain and seen her lying on her bed.

"Oh god you're not pregnant are you?" Spilled out of my mouth. I smacked my hand over my lips.

She turned over and smiled.

"No. I'm not. You don't seem too happy if I was!" She sat up and patted for me to sit down. I crossed over and sat down beside her.

"What?" I smiled. "I only have an hour. I have to get back to the little munchkins!"

She plastered a completely serious look on her face. I began to get nervous. What was so serious? Well, everything in this world was serious; Stupid question.

"Look. We seriously need to talk Beth. It was Angela's mom, Isabella. On the trip last night she was bit, " she said looking down. She reached over for an envelope. "She left you a letter," why would she leave me a letter? Yeah we had a conversation or two. But we weren't 'Besties'.

"She wants you to keep Angela."
