I don't own the characters. I attach strings to them and shout, "Dance marionettes! Dance for my pleasure!"
It was never meant to be, was it?
I always had feelings for you, but you never noticed.
Not until she came along.
Clara was everything I could never be. She was tall, a good trainer (good enough to beat you) and was brave. Braver then I'll ever be. She confessed to you didn't she?
It's your wedding today. Everything you've ever wanted is about to come down the isle.
She never liked me. She always told me behind your back that she knew I had feelings for you. I denied them, but she knew. Even so, he never told you to stop talking to me, never told you to stay away from me.
You did that of your own accord.
Sometimes I wished she was horrible to me. At least then I could have a reason to hate her. I'm not the type of person to hate someone for no reason and she never gave me a reason to hate her.
Even if she took all my friends. She took Blue on shopping trips. She trained with Green. She beat Gold in pool. She helped Crys with her research. She gave Silver his space. She gave contest tips to Ruby. She went on adventures with Saph. She attended high-class parties with Platina. She told jokes to Pearl. She cooked Dia a bunch of food.
She took your heart.
I guess...if it was going to be anybody, it would be her.
You invited me to your wedding. I declined. You hadn't talked to me in ten years. Why should I attend a wedding of a man who never noticed the person who saved him?
I had to see for myself. I had to see for myself if she was really the one.
You were dressed in a red dress shirt and white slacks. There were red, white and purple flowers everywhere. She was a vision in purple and white.
You gazed at her as if she was the only one in the room.
I don't know what brought me here. Any longing for you disappeared long ago. But I had to give you my best wishes.
You noticed me just as you were about to kiss her. I brought my hat in front of my face and smiled.
"Yellow!" You screamed and ran towards me.
You stopped when I shook my head.
"I give you my blessings." I disappeared on the back of a dragon.
The ceremony hall was getting smaller and smaller as we flew farther away. His shouts were getting fainter, the sound of his voice disappearing with the wind.
"Is this okay?" Lance asked. I don't know why he was here, but at the moment I didn't care. "You know you still-"
"I'll always love him." I whispered. "Not in the way I wish he would love me back. I'm not the one. I know that."
"Then why are you crying?"
I smiled. "Because I'm human and humans always regret."
I wish you the best of luck, Red.
Even if you will never share that luck with me.
The next day, a body was found on the outskirts of the Viridian Forest. She was smiling, like she wasn't afraid of Death, who came to claim her.
The doctors later gave the cause of death as, "A broken heart."
That is when Red began to regret.
