How it should've ended

A/N: Ok, this is my first fic so please, no hate? Constructive criticism, however is welcome and encouraged =. I'm not going to lie it was a good movie but I couldn't(can't)': accept the fact that Gwen died. so to compensate for all these feels, I am writing how I think it should've ended.

Disclaimer: I do not own the Amazing Spider Man 1 or 2. I just do happen to own this alternate ending to the second movie.

A/N; Oh, and by the way. the P.O.V. varies between Peter and Gwen. If it's too confusing, just let me know and I'll fix it in the future ^_^

Gwen looks up at Peter and Harry fighting and can't help but worry a little.

"I don't think he can hold me much longer.", She thinks, looking at his arm straining with effort to hold her weight.

Harry has a firm grip on Peter's neck and Peter's web is choking Harry, as the gears are struggling to turn. Both locked in a battle that should never be fought between friends. The pipe blocking the gears, giving Peter some hope, broke in half. The gears move closer to the web. As Peter tries to think of a way to save her the gears shift again, threatening to break the string holding on to her hand. Before the gears can snap it, Peter puts his foot in one of the gears to stop it.

"Peter?", Gwen asks fearfully.

It gets harder for Peter to keep his foot there, but he has to. No matter what. The gears creak and screech with effort. He has to save her.

"I can't lose you too." he thinks to himself, glancing at her frightened face.

Before he can stop it, the gear assembly falls apart. Breaking the only thing keeping Gwen from her death. A look of horror crosses her features as she realizes that the web snapped. Harry is thrown across the room landing against the wall, gear parts landing all around him. Peter looks down to see Gwen falling, her hand still extended out to him. As if she still believes he can save her. He jumps after her, desperate to catch her. He shoots a strand of web, willing it to go faster so he can pull her to safety.

"It's so close." Gwen thought. "Just a little farther."

Finally, it grabs onto her torso. She immediately grabs hold of it and does her best to curl into a ball. After falling for so long gravity is bound to cause a whiplash effect, which would result in her head cracking against the ground. She shook her head trying to get that thought out of her mind and holds on tight to the web waiting for Peter to stop her descent.

Falling after Gwen, Peter was looking for any kind of pole or something he can hold onto to so she wouldn't hit the ground. Just in time when the web grabbed her, he saw a long pole off to the side of him. He reached for it and braced for the jerk on his arm that would signify Gwen's safety. When he felt it he nearly yelled out in pain, it felt like his shoulder was dislocated, but that can wait 'till later. He looked down scared of what he would see. Instead of seeing the love of his life hanging limp from the web, he saw her looking back up at him. With Tears streaming down her face he could feel her trembling. He connected the web to the pole and jumped down so he can comfort her. When he landed she wasted no time in jumping into his arms, leaning against him as sobs wracked her body.

"I was so scared, Peter. I thought-".

"No. Don't talk about that now. It's ok, you're safe." he talked quietly into her hair, rubbing her back reassuringly. They both stayed like that for a while, relishing the feel of each others arms. He picked her up bridal style and walked towards the exit, just barely he could hear Harry coming to. Peter knew he was in no shape to fight so he didn't worry about him attacking again.

Her trembling lessened but she was still shaking in his arms when he carried her out of the tower. Still, he could help but think about Harry. His dear friend gone mad.

"If only there was a way to save him from what he has become.", he thought sadly.

Peter walked around the back of the building, leaving the gruesome scene of the ruined power grid and clock tower behind him.

"You're thinking about Harry aren't you?" Gwen asked quietly. Her voice still shaky.

Peter put his head down in grief. He thought back to all the fun times he had with Harry when they were younger. To the day not so long ago when they were talking by the water. Gwen reached up and took of Peter's mask and saw tears rolling down his cheeks.

"Oh, Peter.", she said. Choking back tears of her own.

She didn't know much about Peter's friendship with Harry, but it must be hard to see someone you care for lose themselves like that. She figured she can relate to him since she lost her dad not too long ago.

"Peter, there's nothing you could've done. He's too far gone." she told him. Trying to make him feel better.

"But what if there was, Gwen? He asked for some of my blood, maybe if I-"

She stopped him by putting her finger on his lips.

"No, Peter. If you gave him your blood, this would've happened even sooner. You did the right thing." She put her hand on the side of his face, wiping away the tears with her thumb. He leaned into her hand, ever thankful he was able to save her.

He walked over to the water behind the tower and sat down on the edge, never letting Gwen leave his arms. They sat there in silence, looking at the full moon over the water.

"So." Peter dragged out. "England, huh?"

Despite all that has happened that night Gwen couldn't help but laugh a little.

"Yeah, England." she replied.

"You know you're not going without me, right?" Peter asked with a smirk. "Like I said before, I'm gonna follow you everywhere."

Gwen smiled against his chest. "Yeah. I know."

They sat there longer, listening to the water lapping at the wall beneath them and the police sirens echoing in the night.

Gwen stood in front of her father's grave, her boyfriend Peter standing behind her holding her hand.

"Hey dad," she starts out. She chokes up and little and Peter squeezes her hand encouragingly.

"It's, uh, been a while since I came to visit. But I just wanted to tell you, Me and Peter are going to England so I can go to Oxford. I love you and I'm sorry if I didn t tell you that enough while you were here." she couldn t hold back her tears anymore but she still continued, her tears running down her face.

"I hope you're proud of me. I'm moving on with my life and hoping to become all that I can." She took a deep breath wanting to say to her father what she couldn't before.

"And daddy?" She looked at his tombstone, trying to summon the words from the back of her throat. "I love Peter, I always have. I know you wanted me to stay away, to keep myself safe. But the thing is, I have never felt safer than when I am with him. I hope that you can accept that even though you're not here."

She looked back at Peter and saw he had a tear making its way down his cheek. She reached up and wiped it away her owns tears falling off her jaw. She turned back to her dad's grave and placed the flowers down in front. She kissed her hand and touched it to the cold granite stone.

"Bye daddy, I love you." she slowly pulled her hand away and turned towards Peter. He put her arm around her shoulders and they together walk out of the cemetery.

A/N: Well, here it is! I hope you liked it. It's a little short, but if ya'll like it I might add more to it. =P I know that Peter stays in New York in the future and he eventually gets with M.J. but hey, its fanfiction for a reason right? ^_0

P.S. Just because this is how I wanted it to end doesn't mean there wouldn t be an ending scene after the credits. Besides, it's what Marvel is known for, right? I always love those. Maybe if this gets enough positive reveiws I'll put up a shorter one-shot for an ending scene cliffhanger. :-3
