Priestess_Kaiba: Hi everyone! This is a short drabble I wrote a year ago, during Christmas time! I want to say it takes place during Season 4! I hope you like it! :)

My Snowy Angel

Dean opened the door to his motel room and noticed the ground and just about everything was covered in white, powdery snow. He glanced back to see Sam still asleep in his bed. He was tempted to wake him but he remembered that the night before he had been up late researching, so he decided to leave him alone.

Dean walked a block down from the motel to a café and got himself a large coffee and a doughnut for breakfast. Normally he would get the house special but he wasn't feeling too hungry at the moment. He sat in the café having his breakfast and through the window he could see some kids across the street playing in the snow. Some were throwing snowballs at each other and others appeared to be making snow angels in the snow. The kids looked so joyful that a smile spread across his own lips before he took a sip of his coffee.

Angels, he thought and immediately Castiel's name came to his mind. He wondered if those children had an Angel of the Lord personally looking after them like he had one. Though technically Castiel wasn't a Guardian Angel, but there had been some times where if Castiel hadn't been there, Dean was sure he would have died. Dean took another drink of his coffee and continued to watch the children playing.

"There are different types of Angels." He heard a gruff voice say from the opposite side of the booth where he was sitting. "There are Angels that are just around to protect."

Dean slightly startled by the voice, spit the coffee he was drinking onto the table. "Damn it, Cas!" He complained as he cleaned up the coffee with his napkin. He tossed the coffee soaked napkin aside and looked up to throw Castiel a glowering look. "Next time, how about you give me a little warning?" He got up from the booth and headed out of the café with Castiel walking a few steps behind him. "How'd you find me anyway?" Dean asked turning slightly to glance at Castiel.

"You called me." Castiel replied sounding slightly distracted.

"I called you?" Dean asked perplexed and he turned around to look at him. He noticed that Castiel was also watching the children across the street playing.

"You called me through your thoughts." Castiel replied, still looking at the children.

"I can do that?" Dean asked.

"We share a bond." Castiel replied vaguely.

Dean looked at Castiel with disbelief and he was certain his cheeks felt hot. He was suddenly really glad that Castiel's attention was elsewhere. Dean felt a change in the atmosphere was needed and he knelt down by the snow and picked up a handful, rolling it into a ball in his hand.

Splat! Was the sound of the snow as it collided with the side of Castiel's face! Dean couldn't help but laugh when Castiel turned to look at him, his head slightly tilted and parts of the snowball still plastered to his face. Dean still laughing hysterically didn't notice when Castiel himself had gathered some snow. It wasn't until the snowball hit him right in his face and his vision was obscured by the white powder that he realized what happened. "Oh it is so on!" Dean declared as he knelt down to get more snow.

They didn't know how long they were throwing snowballs at each other but they were both covered in snow and even the kids from across the street had joined them. Dean took a moment from the snowball battle to gaze at Castiel. The angel had a big smile on his face as he played with the children and Dean couldn't help but feel warmth spread through him at the sight of his seeing his angel smile.

The End
