Lili sat on the sink in front of the mirror in her bathroom, a dagger in her hand. She traced the black marker with the tip of the dagger, remaking her scars. She cut her lip slowly, when she moved the dagger away she saw blood on her lips and face. She laid the dagger down and reached for a katana. She used it to cut down her left leg and her right arm. Lili set it on the floor when she heard a knock on the door. She got off the floor and opened it. There was only one person, a friend.
"So, what can I do for you Garrus?" she asked.
"I just wanted to ask if I could come to Horizon with you when we get there." he explained. "But, what the hell did you do to yourself?"
"Oh, the blood. I'm making my scars all over again." she replied. "I sorta need some help too. You don't mind, right?"
"No, I don't. But won't Miranda be pissed off?" he said as she dragged him into her cabin and closed the door. She handed him one of her old Katanas.
"I don't give a damn." Lili hissed and sat on her bed. "Just trace the marker with the tip of the katana. I'll be fine." she ordered as he came over and sat next to her. She turned her back to him. Garrus gripped the katana and got to work.
"So, how exactly did you get all these scars?" he asked.
"Oh, many times and places. Some are little ones from when I practiced sword fighting with my friends, Devu and Mahi. Mahi was like me, she used katanas and was quite better then me in many ways. Devu, he brother, used a broadsword. Heavy but deadly. We would duel eachother for practice." Lili laughed. "Then some are from the day they died. The damn Batarians shot my legs and arms, Pinned me in a corner and cut my body. I don't give these details to some people, unless I trust them and they ask. Well others are from Torfan. I believe the one on my lip was from a madman slaver there, I heh, killed him with a shotgun headshot." she added. "One was from training in the N7 program, one I got from a damned Asari clone on Feros. One is from Virmire..." Lili trailed off. "Um, there's the one that Thresher Maw gave me two ears back, just before Feros. Some I don't remember anymore. I only know that lots of them showed me something and I want the scars back." her eyes watered as she choked out the words. "Just finish up, then get ready to head to Horizon. I'll come get you and Kasumi when we're there."
"Alright." he replied.
After an hour and a half, Lili had all her scars back. She had taken a shower to wash off the blood and marker and was in her armor, guns on her back. She made her way down to deck 3 and went to get her team. Mirnada walked out of her office just in time to see Lili.
"What the hell, Shepard?" she raged. "Do you know how much it cost to give you skin with no scarring?"
"No, I don't care either, Lawson." Lili spat and went to get Kasumi and Garrus. After Horizon she was going to Omega, she was going to get drunk ans party, even if it killed her. All she thought about was seeing Ashley. But that made thoughts of Virmire come back. Lili had to hurry to see Ash. The quicker she was, the sooner she could see a sight for sore eyes. Hopefully after that and a quick trip to Omega, she could find Liara and Wrex.
"Hopefully, they remember me. I know they will, but will they be happy to see me? And with Cerberus behind me?" she whispered. Then she thought of Tali's reaction on Freedom's Progress. Maybe she could see Tali again too. Lili didn't know what the future hold. But all she wanted was her friends back, even if she could only visit and message them. All she needed to know was that her friends were safe, if she knew that then she could be happy again.
