The murder of Doctor Jack O'Mara was unusual in its brutality. His skull was caved in, apparently by manual pressure to the temples. On the wall was the single word HOUND, written in blood. There was an abundance of evidence at the crime scene, pointing to a Steven Richardson as the killer. Upon examining the psychological reports of Mr. Richardson, it's clear his psychosis is permanent. The significance of the word HOUND on the wall has yet to be determined.
Fox Mulder entered, brandishing a folder. He handed it to his partner triumphantly.
"Ten years ago, a secret project was set up in Liberty, Indiana to test a new antipersonnel chemical weapon." Mulder had that barely-hidden glee he always had when talking about the government doing things it shouldn't. "They called it Project H.O.U.N.D."
Skully looked through the folder. Phrases like conditioned terror, extreme suggestibility, severe frontal lobe damage, and multiple homicide practically leapt off the page. "Oh, my God," she muttered, eyes wide. "Mulder, these people..."
"There were one hundred initial test subjects. All but five of them either died or went insane. One of the only test subjects to make it out was?"
"Steven Richardson." Skully put down the folder. She'd dealt with a lot of strange things in her job, but the cruelty required for something like this sickened her.
