"You thought you could hide from me, Soi Fong?" Yoruichi purred into her ear, making her jump. But before she could react, the question was followed up by a strong punch in the back.
"That's one!" Yoruichi cried gleefully, bounding away. "Only nine-hundred-ninety-nine to go!"
Soi Fong recovered, horrified at the manner her captain chose to express birthday wishes. "I'm not a thousand years old yet!" she sputtered.
Yoruichi grinned wickedly. "Then you'll just have to block all the extra ones!" And then she was gone.
Soi Fong sighed, realizing that this was going to be the longest birthday ever.
