Dory yawned tiredly, she was tired. She was having trouble sleeping at night due to insomnia and night terrors. This had been going on for three days, and now she was starting to suffer from terrifying hallucinations. Jenny, Charlie, Nemo, and Marlin had tried to help her sleep, but nothing they tried worked. All they could do now, was calm her whenever she started hallucinating. Not only that, but Dory was starting to have less energy, and her memory was even worse. Charlie sighed. Today Dory had had a pretty scary hallucination. Poor Dory had screamed in terror and swam away as fast as she could. It had taken both him and Marlin six hours to catch her. By the time they did, Dory had passed out from exhaustion. Marlin and Charlie carried Dory home. They hoped that she'd sleep peacefully; but 3 hours, later she had a terrible nightmare again and woke up screaming. Dory's heavy eyes drooped and closed. She yawned hugely. Then she bumped into something soft and squishy. "Hey kid." Dory woke up with a start. She blinked. She could make out a fuzzy outline of a red figure with tentacles. At first, Dory recoiled in fear; but when she heard the voice addressing her, she realized who it was. "Hank?" she drowsily slurred. "Yikes kid, you look awful. You look like a fish who hasn't slept in days." Dory yawned hugely. Marlin swam up to him. "I'm sorry Hank. Dory hasn't been getting much sleep lately, and it's really affecting her." Jenny nodded, "It's true. She's been suffering from insomnia and nightmares; after passing out, she's about dead from exhaustion. We have all tried lullabies, bedtime stories, snacks, and happy thoughts. But nothing helps. Nemo said she is having night terrors due to the bad things that happened at California. I wish we could get rid of the dreams." Hank smiled. "I think I know a little trick. It might help her sleep; but when she sleeps, we all have to stay with her." Jenny nodded. " I'll do anything for my little girl to have a good night's sleep." Hank said, "Okay now, Dory, focus on me. Dory did as she was told. Hank began swinging his tentacle back and forth. In a monotone voice, he said, "You are feeling sleepy, very sleepy." Dory yawned hugely. "So, so sleepy," she mumbled. "You want to sleep, Dory. Listen to my voice. You will sleep well, and wake up refreshed. Now sleep" Dory's eyes lowered then closed. Dory sank to the floor, snoring softly. Hank smiled. "It's called hypnosis. Don't worry, she'll be her energetic self when she wakes up. Well, I think it's best if we get her home." "Thank you", Nemo said, "now Dory can finally get some sleep." Charlie and Jenny settled Dory in bed; she looked so peaceful and calm.
"She's sleeping at last," Jenny said smiling. Dory smiled in her sleep enjoying her dreams. Everyone laid next to Dory, and slept with her. And finally, Dory had no nightmares.
