author's note: I'm a sucker for ships that have hyperactive characters, because they're so easy to mold into cuteness, so have some Alanzo x Jackie fluff.

...I may or may not have been watching "Rio" while writing this. I swear, that's a coincidence. *nervous laugh* JUST READ ABOUT THE ADORABLE HYBRIDS.

There was no denying that Jacinta Valdez was a brilliant performer. This was a fact that was well-known in the whole Safe Haven, and there was no other reason why she had decided to be a drama teacher. However, while she was dramatic and elegant up on stage, offstage, she was bubbly and full of energy.

Plus, when it came to the arts, acting with a side of singing was her only forte.

Throughout all of the years, dancing never seemed to be easy for her-

-which was why she had a wonderful teacher.

Alanzo might have had the gracefulness of an ostrich, but he certainly had moves, and she would not deny him that. Jackie adored his gangly movements, chipper laughter, and the way he'd be fast and frenzied with the directions of every step. While his students would frown about this sort of thing, Jackie found it like a wild roller coaster ride she would never want to get off of. Then again, every moment with her husband was like that, and she wouldn't have it any other way.

Besides, dance lessons with him often ended up in a strange manner...

...like now.

Somehow, she had ended up held inches away from the ground, with a rose held in between her teeth, while Alanzo was utterly confused at how they had gotten this way.

"Funny," he mused. "Wasn't I supposed to teach you the waltz? This looks like a tango."

Jackie removed the flower from her mouth and waved it around as she let out a laugh. "I thought you said you were teaching me the foxtrot," she retorted.

Alanzo pulled her upright. "Well, looks like we'll have to finish what we started," he said. Then, without warning, he twirled his wife around, taking her by surprise.

Dizziness overcame Jackie for a moment. She couldn't find the power to stand still as she spun around on her toes, watching the world fly by for what seemed like a while, when she finally felt herself falling, and her landing was straight into a pair of trustworthy arms.

With a slightly dazed - and frankly, quite stupid - laugh slipping out of her lips, Jackie released a light squeak as she was pulled halfway back up to a standing point.

Her smile turned sweet and heart-melting, and she giggled as her husband began peppering little kisses up and down her neck.

"Weren't we supposed to be dancing?" she teased.

"Are you complaining about this situation, mi corazón?" Alanzo asked, with his usual goofy smile.

While one hand kept her from falling, Jackie blushed ever-so-slightly as he traced his fingers along the side of her face. Even when taking a humanoid body, Alanzo's touch was as soft as the feathers he had in his natural form.

She tilted her head, and brought their lips together in a sweet little innocent kiss.

"Not at all," she murmured. "Besides-" She giggled and gave the tiniest smirk. "-isn't the passion dance another name for the tango?"

author's note: Holy crap, I haven't written something this cheesily cliche in a while.

By the way, now that I think about it, the title of this story would be a great ship name for these two cuties. Also, I love the fact they're both Hispanic. Dunno why. I just do. Anyway, if you liked this drabble, please review to let me know! :)
