As Michael picked up Alexandra and carried her away, she whispered something to him.
"I love you." Completely unsure of what he'd heard, Michael had to ask, ever so eloquently,
"What?" He looked down at her, a puzzled expression on his face.
"I said I love you, Michael." Alex told him unwaveringly, looking directly into his eyes. He dismissed it.
"No you don't. You're high on... whatever Vlad gave you. You don't know what you're saying." They were almost at his car by this point.
"I do know what I'm saying!" He shooked his head and placed her carefully on the floor so she was standing on her own, but kept an arm around her waist to steady her. He helped Alex into the passenger seat and buckled her in. Michael walked over to the other side of the vehicle and entered. He started the car and began to drive.
"I know what I said." Alex insisted. "I just didn't mean it how you think. You're the only person that I've ever felt cared about me other than... " She paused. Alex almost said Nikita's name. She almost blew her cover, just like that! Alex swallowed and continued, "... Anyway, I'm just really glad I have someone like you around."
"I'll always protect you, Alex. You know that." He put a hand on her shoulder.
"I know." There was silence for a couple moments until Alex couldn't resist and said,
"Besides, I know you love Nikita, anyway. I'd never wanna get involved in that mess." Michael scoffed. He was shocked and abruptly removed his hand.
"What? Nikita?" He asked incredulously. "You think I have something for Nikita?"
"Wow. You are a bad liar." She joked. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. Even though it's pretty obvious." Alex smirked, and Michael remained silent. Continuing to deny of the subject would only convince Alex further. Although Michael wouldn't never admit it, Alex could have sworn she saw him blushing, just the smallest bit. Sure, she was still kinda high, it was pretty dark, and this was Michael she was talking about - but Alex was sure she saw it. Soon after, shenoticed how tired she really was, and tilted her head back on the seat. Slowly, Alex drifted off to sleep.
This is an ending I would have liked to see from this episode. I know it's really short, but I think it's cute. I mean, I actually like it. But I didn't make it like she loves him as a boyfriend or husband or whatever, because I love Mikita wayyy more than Malex. No offense, guys.
I've written a lot of stories, but this is my first for Nikita, and also my first that I've uploaded, like, ever. So please tell me what you think. I might make more, but I'm not sure. I love feedback.
