"Mommy, Can I call daddy?" You're 7 year old daughter asked.
"Sure thing sweetie. Do you know how to dial the number though?" You reply
"Yeah, I've practiced a lot these 3 months"." She smiled and took your cell phone.
You over hear her talking on the phone with your husband Kendall.
"Dad, when are you coming home?"
"In one week baby girl. Can you please be strong for daddy?"
Carla sniffles. "I don't thin-"She breaks down crying.
You run over to take her in your arms. You pick up the phone and say, "Please come home soon sweetie."
"I'll try my best." Kendall says before hanging up. You can tell his heart is shattered in millions of pieces. "Carla, please don't cry! Daddy will be home before you know it." You say trying to comfort her. This is going to be the longest week ever.
~1 week later~
You're in the living room, trying to sleep on the brown love seat. You just can't. You miss Kendall so much. For 3 months you couldn't sleep. Long, restless nights of sadness and loneliness. Yes, you had Carla but, you can't do all of the fun things you can with Kendall. Kissing, cuddling, talking, singing- just everything. All of a sudden you hear the front door open; you get out of your bed as quickly as you can. You that it's your best friend Erin here for something. But what you see in front of you is no Erin. It's a tall, blonde, bushy eye browed- man. With deep, sparkly, light green eyes. You yell" KENDALL!" Not even caring if you wake up your daughter. You run into his arms. He keeps the embrace for a while. He then puts you down, and leans in for a kiss. You missed his lips on your lips. You can tell he missed kissing you. "Damn, 3 months of none of this." You thought. He keeps the kiss long and steady. Both of your lips connecting for the first time in 3 months. You break the kiss, and look into his eyes. "I missed you so much." You say. Kendall says, "I've missed you too babe. I love you" "I love you too." You say, tears filling up in your eyes. You really did miss him. Carla comes running through the hall screaming, "DADY! DADY! DADYYYYYY!" Kendall grabs up his little girl and says, "Hey princess! I missed you!" Carla replied, "I missed you to daddy. I love you soooo much." Kendall teases her by saying, "How much?" Carla opens up her arms and spreads them as far as she can. "THIS MUCH DADY! You look at Kendall and he looks at you. You both started to laugh. You both have missed this so much. I can't wait until Kendall and I are alone.
