-Flashback-

"Katniss? I want you to read this when you get back from the Games," Peeta said as he handed her an orange envelope. Katniss looked at him in disbelief, "Don't talk like that Peeta, maybe you have a chanc-," "I don't and you know it. Everybody knows it. You ever realize they call you Girl on Fire? I was on fire to but they don't call me Boy on Fire." He joked playfully but then turned serious. "Promise me you'll read it?" Katniss nodded.

-End of Flashback-

Katniss wiped away the tears as she sat on the stage with Caesar Flickerman and a doctor from the Capitol. She shook her head, "No, no this can't happen. He was fine!" She cried out on Televion. The audience awed at her pain.

"I'm sorry. But Peeta had a bad reaction to our medicine and his body shut down to get rid of it," The Doctor said in a soft voice. Katniss looked up at him, "You gave him the medicine? It's your fault!" She screamed as she tackled the doctor to the ground, ignoring her dress as it ripped. She only cared about the Doctor.

She ran her nails across the Doctors face and watched it bleed as she continued to attack him. But Peacekeepers were immediately called to escort her back to her room and lock her in there. Katniss collapsed to the ground, the yellow dress floating around her as she cried in her hands.

The memory of Peeta giving the letter replayed in her head and she knew she had to read it like she promised. She jumped up and tore off her high heels, running around the room frantically to find it.

It was placed in the middle of her bed. She jumped on the bed and gently tore it open, her hands fumbling with the long letter that was stuffed inside. She crossed her legs and wiped the tears from her eyes to read clearly. It said.

Dear my Katniss,

I knew you would win the Games. You are so much stronger and better then all the other tributes. Maybe not strong as in steroids but in spirit. You have things to fight for and that's what makes you better. I don't think you'll ever see yourself the way I see you and I was never brave enough to tell you. Well I did during the interviews and you slammed me into a wall. You are the most beautiful girl I've ever met. The way you are is so emotionally motivating. How you support you family, how you take care for Prim. I think Prim is the luckiest person in the world. I love you Katniss Everdeen. To me your not the Girl On Fire. You are always the girl I loved. But that doesn't have a cool ring to it like Girl on Fire I guess. I know you didn't love me like I did but I know you did care. Don't worry about me. Heaven probably has a really great bakery. Take care Katniss. I love you and miss you with every bit of my heart.

Truly yours,

Peeta Mellark

She ignored the tears and held the letter up, speaking to it as if Peeta could somehow hear her. She smiled at the thought that he was with her and finally let the words come out.

"I love you to Peeta,"
