Standing out
AN : inspired by THAT spoiler still of TVD 4x07. My way of THIS scene happening.

Klaus came up to her, as relaxed as ever. Caroline's breath caught in her throat. He could make just about anything look good, so what ?
He stopped too close to her.
« You look gorgeous, love. »
She narrowed her eyes.
« I'm having a bad day, don't make it worse. »
He leaned towards her.
« Do you seriously think you can kiss me right now ? »
His gaze on her was deadly serious. He closed the small gap between them and kissed her. Oh, man, was all Caroline could think, as his lips were on hers. She gasped at the sudden pleasure and stepped forward. A blatant wave of victory surged through him as she kissed him back, but it drowned in pure ecstasy as she let his tongue taste hers.
He was not sure what caused her to pull away, but when she did, she was utterly shocked. What had just happened ? She had just kissed him back and enjoyed it thoroughly. And she was sure he knew that. Well done, Caroline. Leave it to him to give her the most amazing kiss you ever had : a thousand years life experience would certainly do that to a kiss. Their eyes locked, vulnerable just the same. She smiled lightly and on a random impulse, ghosted his lips with hers. She then stepped back decidedly.
« There's still plenty to do. I'll see you inside. »
Klaus smiled. Now, was it so difficult ? Next step : get her to call him Niklaus. His given name on her lips would sound just heavenly.
