Little did Sagat know that he was about to be assassinated by Dragunov sent in from the Russian military, as he was about to stealthily approach him and then take him out as they saw him as a threat to eliminate their target they saw Devil Jin, as they wanted to take Devil Jin and experiment on him.

Suddenly Sagat was in the gym training himself to fight against Ryu, along with the worldwide fighters in the tournament, but Dragunov snuck in with a knife prepared to assassinate him but Sagat knocks the knife out of his hand.

"Who dares to assassinate 'The King'? No... The White Angel of Death!?" Sagat said looking at the Sambo fighter, as usual Dragunov stood there and said nothing with a stone-cold and emotionless face.

"Not daring to speak with words? Speak with your fists then if you refuse to talk" Sagat said as he prepared his fighting stance as Dragunov did too.

A fight begins as Dragunov prepares to run at the muscular giant but Sagat knocks him back with a swift Tiger knee to the face and sends him flying to a wall and falls onto the floor. Dragunov was down but did a stealth-like crawl and then pounces on the Muy Thai Fighter but Sagat uses a Tiger Shot and knocks him down as he uses a Light Kick on Dragunov.

The fight appears as it is over, but it wasn't over yet as Dragunov was on the ground wounded but he takes out a dagger and gets back up.
"Continue to fight me? You will go down like all the others fool!" Sagat said as Dragunov brandishes another dagger, lunges at Sagat with two daggers as he was close to Sagat preparing to eviscerate him but Sagat finishes Dragunov with a Tiger Uppercut taking down and defeating The White Angel of Death.

Sagat takes Dragunov's outfit as a token of his victory and a souvenir as he stands tall at the defeated Dragunov as the Russian soldier said nothing whatsoever. "Challenge me again if you dare show your face before me ever again!" Sagat said with his new outfit as he walks away as Dragonov passes out.

As a Russian army is outside the gym waiting for Dragunov, they then see Sagat come out gasping feeling threatened as Sagat says "You have choices, you will follow the King as your new leader! The one known as the White Angel of Death is forever defeated!" as he held his hand and he clenched his fist preparing to do a super Tiger Shot.

The army had no choice as they saw him as a threat and very dangerous man, as they saluted him and then Sagat folds his arms as he nods his head.
