Kazimieras Clark was not a morning person in the slightest. He hated to wake up early with every cell in his body. It was one of the reasons he had such a bad track record when he attended Logan High School in Philadelphia. He always hit the snooze button on his alarm to allow himself more time to sleep, which caused either his older sister to come in and yell at him to wake him up or his mother, which in turn caused him to be several minutes late to his first class every day. But while he hated mornings and waking up early, it was nothing how his best friend felt about them.

Oliver Todd absolutely loathed waking up early, and had a burning hatred towards the idiot who invented the alarm clock and wished certain harmful things to befall him. When attending Logan High School, yes, he was always awake bright and early in order to get to his classes on time, as expected of him by his mother. As expected of him by his mother. Just because he did it, that didn't mean he wanted to. Weekends, Kaz often was able to find Oliver snuggled deep in his blankets, still in a very heavy sleep at eleven thirty in the morning. Kaz learned his lesson the first time he tried to wake Oliver up before ten o'clock. Keyword: Don't.

So Kaz only grumbled a little bit as he staggered down the stairs at the ungodly hour of eight-thirty-five in the morning, Oliver cursing Chase out in every way and tongue he knew of, and considering Oliver was fluent in Spanish, Italian, and French, that counted four different languages. "Someone had better be dying." Oliver growled darkly as he and Kaz both swarmed the coffee pot. Both boys gulped down their individual mugs in record times of five and ten seconds, then went for a second immediately after that lasted a little bit longer.

"What in the name comic books are we doing up so early?" Kaz demanded snappishly.

"Mr. Davenport wants to meet with us today." Bree explained.

"Okay, so? He couldn't have waited until this afternoon?" Oliver crankily glowered.

"He's going to the Academy this afternoon to meet with Adam and Leo, to see how the transition into teams went." Chase replied with narrowed eyes. "You could be in a better mood you know."

"And you could get carried away by a large predatory bird for dinner so the rest of us can have some peace from your bossy nature, but we don't always get what we want do we?" Oliver spat back. Skylar snorted into her own mug of coffee and Oliver went for a fourth cup and a bagle from the cabinet. Kaz snickered at Chase's dumbfounded expression.

"Don't look at me. You woke him up early, you deal with the concequences." Kaz told Chase harshly when the bionic boy looked at him for retribution. "We warned you from the beginning not to wake the both of us early, and now you see why. You're just lucky I'm not as bad as Oliver is."

Luckily, an hour and a couple more mugs of coffee later, Oliver's sour mood mellowed out and he was his normal self by the time the CEO arrived to the penthouse.

I just wanted to write some cranky Oliver. Dunno why.
