Niles walked down the dark Seattle street the same as he did every night.

His car was in the shop so he was forced to walk from his office, home every night. He didn't mind though, he quite enjoyed the walk. It gave him time to collect his thoughts of the day and to relax. He had to pass Frasiers building to get to his so he thought he'd pay his dad a visit. Since Daphne'd moved out he missed going as often, it's true he went to see Daphne mostly but he did still like to visit his dad a lot. Since he moved in with Frasier he'd seen him a lot more and he liked it. He walked past a clothes shop a saw a check shirt, he smiled to himself, his dad was a big part of his life and he missed him greatly even though he only lived a few minutes away, it easily could have been hours. He was going to need his dad a lot soon, what with baby on the way of whom will surely need a proactive Grandad. He turned into the doorway of the tower block where Frasier resides, greated the doorman silently, stepped into the lift and waited for what seemed like hours but was only minutes. He stepped out and knocked on the door.

''Hello Dad''

''Oh Hey son!''
