Chapter 1

Lane had just gotten off the phone with Rory in the diner when Jess comes down the stairs looking refreshed from a shower and smells really good.

"hey Lane where's Luke?' Jess wonders

"that was Luke. He is at the hospital with April." Lane tells him

"he's what? Is everything okay?" Jess wonders

"yea that was Rory April had appendicitis so Luke called Lorelai and she told him to get April down to the Emergency Room at 's right away." Lane tells him

"oh man, okay I'm leaving." he tells her

"fine." Lane says not really caring about him once again and leaves the diner and sees Rory sitting in the town square reading in the dark by the 1 only street light and walks over to her.

"hey." Jess says

"Jess." Rory says getting up fast looking at him all confused

"yea did you hear about April?" he wonders

"yeah, yeah I did my mom told me." she tells him

"yea I was just about to make my way over there to go and see her and check on her and see if Luke anything or needs me to do anything." Jess tells her

"well that's very nice of you." she tells him

"yeah." Jess says

"so how are you; What are you doing back here?" Rory wonders

"just back here for a few days to see if Stars Hollow Books will put my book out." Jess tells her

"wow,really?" Rory wonders

"yeah." Jess tells her looking at her all lovingly

"well Andrew should he's nice." Rory tells him

"ah yes but he doesn't like never has since the first time I moved here." Jess tells her

"yeah,but you're different now. You're like a more mature and grown up man now." Rory tells him

"yeah." Jess says running his hand thru his awesome hair still looking at her like he still can't believe how beautiful and amazing she still is

"so,how are you?" he asks in his sexy voice she loves

"I'm good." she tells him and smiles at him and still can't believe that he's back and that she's actucally standing there talking to him

"so you still dating that blonde dick from Yale?" Jess wonders

"Jess, his name is Logan." Rory tells him

"well are you?" Jess wonders

"yes I am; And why is that any of your business anyways?" Rory wonders
