'People seem to think that it's always black and white, you're either good or bad, but lately I've been wondering... what if the truth is more gray than it seems.'

Mika was sitting on the clock tower of Twlight town, staring at the sunset.

"Is everything all right?" Someone interrupted her thoughts. She turned to see a brown-haired girl in orange and yellow.

"Olette." Mika turned away from the girl. "I'm worried about Twilight town. So many Heartless have showed up."

"Don't worry Mika, I'm positive that Twilight Town's gonna be okay!" Ollete said with a smile but Mika's eyebrow twitched with annoyance.

"Are you crazy?!" she snapped. "You don't know the truth about what's going on! Nothing's going to be ok!"

"But Mika, we need to stay positive! We have to have hope that all these monsters are going to go away."

Mika just hid her face in her knees. "Just go away..." she choked out.

"But..." Olette trailed off and felt like someone was squeezing her throat. Tears burned in her eyes.

"Ollete, just leave me alone!" Mika snapped, and the brown-haired girl gasped. She gulped, and left her friend alone.

The angered teen was panting and her breathing became slower. She gripped onto her pants, feeling like she was sinking in a bottomless abyss of guilt. How could she have vented all her anger out on Ollete? What had she done? Wiping tears from her eyes, she rested her forehead on her arms and wept.

A boy with sapphire blue eyes and long brown hair stood behind the corner. He wore a long black coat with the hood resting on his shoulders; he was part of Organisation XIII. Now free as a bird, he was there watching this sad yet beautiful girl cry. He frowned as he felt this painful emotion in his 'heart,' then placed his gloved hand over the left side of his chest where his 'heart' was supposed to be. A tear fell down his cheek like a rain drop falling down on glass. He touched his cheek and felt clueless; was he crying?

He stared at the Paopu fruit in his hand when he visited the Destiny islands. 'There's a legend behind this fruit, I don't know if it's true. It has something to do with sharing with someone else, when I asked that boy with silver hair and cyan eyes, he told me the legend. Should I give it to her, to make her smile?' he thought and looked up at the crying teen. The brown haired boy sighed; for some reason he didn't want Mika to cry. Then he thought of a great idea. He split the fruit in half.

The young man in black quietly walked up to the crying girl and placed half of the Paopu Fruit on the ground next to her. Lightly, he tapped Mika's shoulder and quickly left.

Mika looked up and turned around to see no one there, but something caught her eye. She turned her head to her left and looked down. What the girl saw made her smile and her cheeks turned pink. There was half an Paopu Fruit and she picked it up. This reminded her of Destiny Islands and then the beautiful sapphire ocean. She held it to her lips and froze for a moment to think.

'Is this real? Am I not dreaming? Should I eat it?' Mika shook her head and decided. The 15 year-old took a bite of the the yellow fruit. It was amazing! Like nothing she ever tasted. She then started eating more, until she noticed that she ate it all up. Then realisation hit her straight in the face, how could she have forgotten? The legend about the Paopu fruit "If two people share one, their destinies become intertwined. They'll remain a part of each other's lives no matter what". Ollete told her about that legend and fantasised about it, saying how romantic is was.

Mika wondered who ate the other half and her cheeks turned bright red. She turned her head from left to right and saw no one: she was on her own. She placed her hand onto her heart and gulped as she looked down. Then at the bottom of the Clock Tower, she noticed someone dressed in black who was looking up at her...smiling? Then when she blinked he was gone. After a moment of thinking, she shook the feeling off, and started to leave the Clock Tower.

Mika walked down the steps of the Clock Tower and she was standing outside the Station Plaza. She stood in the middle of the deserted place and suddenly something black popped up from the ground. It had an antennae and beady yellow eyes; Heartless! She noticed a Struggle Sword next to her and picked it up. Mika started to swing the weapon at the Heartless but the little monster was too quick for her.

The Heartless then knocked her down hard. Her vision started to become hazy and blurry. It was as if her world was spinning. She could still see the Heartless who were jumping onto her. Their claws were scratching her to take her heart away desperately. Mika couldn't do anything at that moment she was weak and vulnerable. Mika started to think it was the end. But then... just as a heartless was about to finish her off and take her heart away, she saw an arrow being shot through the Heartless.

As soon as Mika stood up, she saw a mouse in front of her with a golden Keyblade.

"You need to get out of here quick!" He said and she nodded. Just as she was about to run off, someone caught her eyes.

It was someone in a black robe with beautiful brown long hair and sapphire blue eyes. His face was blank with no emotion but his eyes held his emotions.

Just as another Heartless was going to jump on her, Selwyn ran to her. He stood in front of her and glanced at her from the corner of his eye.

"Go! You'll get hurt." He said in a charming and handsome voice which matched his personality. She stared at him and snapped out of daze.

"But what about you?" Mika asked.

"Don't worry about me." He said in an angry tone but didn't mean it. Mika gulped at his harsh tone. She turned away and began to run off.

She ran through the streets, when she bumped into a man with a similar attire to the boy who saved her. But this person was older and had dark hair. He seemed a bit scary and didn't seem so nice like the brown haired teenager who saved her from the heartless.

Mika backed up a bit. She had a bad vibe from this man. As he took a step closer to her she took a step back. Mika's back hit the ground and he glared at her.

Just as Selwyn finished off a Heartless, his head turned to his left and he noticed Xaldin. The black-robed man then saw Selwyn. "So, I finally found you."

The boy with brown hair grinded his teeth together and clenched his fist so hard that it started to trembling. "I'm not going back, Xaldin!" He roared.

The man smirked slightly at the boy. "Is that how you're going to talk to your own companion, Maxcheil?"

"I'm not Maxcheil, anymore."

"Heh, whatever you say, Maxcheil." Xaldin said.

"My name is Selwyn!" The boy shouted.

The man frowned. "You know that running away is against the laws of Oragization XIII."

"I disobey because I don't want to be with any of you anymore. I want to follow my own path."

"Your own path! Ha, don't make me laugh. You don't have a path. You are a Nobody like us. The only path you have in store for yourself is to collect more hearts in order to become complete, Maxcheil."

The boy glared at Xaldin. He didn't want to agree with his comment as he squeezed his eyes shut. "Will you stop calling me, Maxcheil?!"

"Hmph, your name is Maxcheil, and that's all it's gonna be." Xaldin muttered and Mika was getting annoyed at the second. How could he say that to the boy?!

She got up and faced the man. "Hey! How are you to decide what this guy can or can't be?"

"Why don't you shut your mouth you little girl? And do not get involved!" He summoned his Lance. Mika leapt a few feet back and defend herself with her sword.

"I am not a little girl, and I have every right to get involved!" She yelled.

"Hmph, then your heart will fall into darkness!" Xaldin declared as he threw his lance at the girl!

"Keep away from her!"

Mika cringed when she saw that the boy she was trying to defend had fired a green arrow and it collided violently with Xaldin's thrown lance. The end result was an explosion where the shockwave sent Mika flying back away from Xaldin.
When the smoke cleared, Xaldin stepped forward and summoned six more lances and summoned a windstorm as he levitated off of the ground.

"Both of you are sickly meddlesome..." Xaldin snarled. "But neither of you stand a chance. Organization XIII's will be triumphant and we will achieve completion... and you're going to help us!"

Selwyn angrily yelled. "Just shut up! Tell Xemnas I'll never join him! Never in a million years!"

"Yes... Feed your anger, only anger will keep you strong for us." Xaldin smirked. "But why? Why would you even consider your own demise, Maxcheil?"

"Just leave him alone!" Mika shouted as she stood on her own two feet and stood next to Selwyn. "I can't believe you would just force him to do what you say! That isn't right!"

"Hmph... That's the stuff of poetry, not practicality. Our plans will be realized!" Xaldin retorted.

"Enough talking!" Selwyn barked as he jumped high into the air and fired multiple green arrows at Xaldin.

"Where's the fun in this?" He grinned as he orderd the winds to protect him and destroy the arrows.

Xaldin then teleported witht the speed of the wind, and he appeared behind Selwyn, still in the air. Xaldin swung two of his lances into his back and he was plummeting to the ground!

"I can't catch him!" Mika cried.

Selwyn work up in time to use some aero magic of his own to slow down his speed and safely land back on the bricked ground. Mika then approached him with concern.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"Yeah... that guy he's-!"

But before he could finish, Xaldin had teleported again a few yards in front of him and smirked as his lances shaped it into a the form of a dragon's mouth. He then ordered it to open and fire a concentrated beam of powerful wind gusts right at them!

Both Mika and Sewlyn flinched at the oncoming attack but in a flash of light... the threat was averted. But when they realized that a little mouse with a golden key weapon was between them… well the two teens were certainly thankful.

"Gosh, I'm glad I'm not too late." The mouse smiled. "Like I said before, you two need to get out of here, it's too dangerous."

"What is the meaning of this?" Xaldin stated confounded.

"Who are you? Really?" Mika curiously inquired.

"Don't worry about that." The mouse assured them. "I'll hold this big fella off while you two get away. Hurry!"

Both Selwyn and Mika looked at each other then the mouse and nodded in affirmation and gratitude. Selwyn then raised his hand to create a dark corridor and he held out his hand.

"Come with me."

And then she blinded took it and the two of them left that world...
